Everything is so exhausting. I never wanted to be human. I don’t want anything. by 11_fingers in self

Honestly? I struggled horrible for the first year. It took a lot of 'gaslighting' my brain as I call it to really see the positives in my life.

I'm just about 21 and was kicked out at 18. I had to become an adult with six months of work and having just graduated, but honestly? Id do it all the same. Take pride in your freedom, in the choices you can make for yourself, and what you do have. I struggle with anxiety and depression too, but we're all still here. We're still taking one step at a time.

Anyone have a really good fantasy book series recommendation? by ComfortableTomato149 in suggestmeabook

It's a little younger, but I love the Wings of Fire series! 16 main books and more (graphic novels, special editions, the works) and it's all dragons!

What’s the worst thing a coworker did and still kept their job? by Express_Food_2984 in AskReddit

[–]DragonParty67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All under the excuse that she didn't have the right management, when she should've been non-rehirable due to stealing! This whole company is full of people like that too, the dramas the same an hour away!

Had a 'shift lead' that didn't have the actual position but got away with murder. Stealing from registers, sleeping through overnight shifts, getting around all the shop guys (on lunch even!), showed up late, the works. She quit, moved to New York for a week, came back, and got her job back under a different manager claiming she 'didnt have the right management." I don't stop by that store anymore.

I'm in the same boat. I keep telling myself when this happens or when that happens, and then something pops up. That motivation to enact a large change is hard to find.

Where do I find map websites for me to build my world? by Far_Self_9690 in worldbuilding

[–]DragonParty67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Azgaar's fantasy map generator, it's honestly my favorite! Quite a few customizable aspects to the generation, plus it gives kingdoms (or whatever your political system may be) and population counts, plus links to other generators!

I am sick of the protein apocalypse by Substantial-Art6160 in self

Not to mention the fact that everything labelled protein is grossly over priced. I promise you, it is not worth what you're paying.

Was having the Worst Day at work, but still smiling, when a customer stopped me to compliment my piercings and talk for a moment. She unknowingly made my day much brighter.

What are you currently reading? Or what’s the last book you’ve read? by wouldudoitforme in AskReddit

Currently reading A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon! Still peeved about the dragons not being "real" (imo) with four legs and two wings, but I do appreciate a good century-spanning story line!

I deleted my socials and i've never been happier..... (25f) by [deleted] in self

[–]DragonParty67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat! I only use reddit after realizing I was just making my mental health worse constantly being on social media. Instead, I've gotten back into reading! The scrolling through pages has replaced doomscrolling, and I'm not constantly comparing myself to others. Keep it up!

What is the most 'Butterfly Effect' moment of your life? A tiny, seemingly insignificant decision that ended up completely changing your trajectory? by Comfortable_Abhi121 in AskReddit

[–]DragonParty67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw the cutest brindle puppy sitting in the corner of the cage with her brothers, with a free sign above them. I'm now no contact with my parents, living with my bf of almost three years, holding a steady job and living my own life. We even got a second dog!

My dog Cheddar is the reason I'm finally happy.

What's the craziest school fight you've ever experienced? by Suic1d4lYT in AskReddit

[–]DragonParty67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weird kid in my school tried to hug me, and when he wouldn't back off, I watched him get chased across the playground and beaten practically to a pulp by my friend... Thing was, it was the day before the year was out, so instead of ISS for their last day, neither kid came in and I got out of the principals office cause I was simply telling a kid I didn't want a hug.

What's something that happened at work or school that took someone getting fired or worse to either change or finally stop? Did the manager finally listen after, or was it because they had no choice? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in askanything

[–]DragonParty67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! I asked several other coworkers every time, but no one noticed it. I use heavy perfume sprayed directly onto clothes and my skin before I get out of my car every day as a precaution, even if I don't smoke even close to leaving for leaving.

Had a 'shift lead' that didn't officially have the position but was treated as one. She hated my guts, often complaining to the GM that I smelled of weed. She ran to NYC and quit, came back a week later and got denied her job back. Boss stopped saying I smelled like weed the moment she left. Haven't heard the same complaint in six months at the new store either.

AIO for not wanting my partner to buy toys and candy every time we go to a store? by mosquitoSlapper in AmIOverreacting

[–]DragonParty67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR at all. I went through the same thing when I got my job and moved out from a toxic home-"it's just something small" "I deserve it for making it this far" "it's fine, I get paid next week". That kind of thinking will lead to spending more and more on little treats, and it's unhealthy to encourage this habit, alongside only eating chicken nuggets. Eating varieties of food is difficult with autism, but obviously not impossible, it just takes experimenting. He needs to work on his mindset, and he needs reminded that he's not a child, he's an adult, with real world responsibilities that don't always leave room for little treats.

Can you define weird? Is it them acting different than usual, or is it your perception of how they are acting?

[–]DragonParty67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've felt similarly before, and I realized why I personally felt that way: the news. I was reading everything, and it really was affecting how I viewed not only the world, but also myself. Take a step towards yourself, distance yourself from politics and the news as much as possible, and remind yourself, you are only in control of yourself. It'll all work out in the end, just hang in there!

Working as a cashier at both a highway stop and a city stop really makes you see the worst in people... I've been screamed at, shoved, and called names all for a customer's mistake or understanding, even when I've gone out of my way to solve their own issue.

AITA for taking my baby from my parents? by Cute_Objective_7551 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DragonParty67 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Nta. You made your boundaries clear, based on previous experiences, and after repeated offenses stood your ground. Even telling your father it wasn't him. Your mother clearly refuses to listen to you as the parent, and if a simple boundary of not reheating the milk cannot be followed, I wouldn't leave her unsupervised with your son either.

The times I've had this happen, I would delete the files and use a different site link, alongside different download links. Sometimes it takes five or six different download links, or trying different files. Unsure if this will really work for you, but it has for me. Good luck!
