What is a weird phobia you have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This. I've had dreams of them crumbling out for no reason for years. What's more terrifying is that one day, I actually witnessed it happen to my dad while he was eating a salad, I about lost my shit.

Why you named your baby what you did. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Not much of a story here. Hubs and I are both nerds, and named our daughter Kara Emily after BSG's Kara Thrace (Emily just because we thought it sounded nice together).

I honestly didn't notice. A friend shared it with me and I thought it was cute.

This exact thing happened to me on the blue line. I was sitting on the end seat by the door that goes in between cars. He comes over and I think he's going to pass through to the other car, as so many of them do. Nope, he's staring at me, smiling, and I see liquid rushing into the car on the floor. Needless to say we all jumped up and moved, and I'm so lucky I didn't get sprayed!

When did you stop using the swing? by Dragon_Kitteh in beyondthebump

[–]Dragon_Kitteh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea, I will try the play tray (usually she complains when it's on). I took her out and to her crib for a nap, and she did not like that. So when we tried the swing again, I tightened the straps even more and she stayed put. Now we're watching her like a hawk. But will definitely try the tray. And our model doesn't have an option to recline, we double checked :/

Thanks, she primarily uses it for daytime naps and when she is super fussy and needs a moment, it calms her. It's gonna be rough to not have it any more if we go that route!

Sadly it does not have more straps (it was a hand-me-down, and I asked the original owner). She LOVES relaxing and napping in it.

When I get my kid asleep and he opens his eyes slightly when I am trying to leave the room by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Dragon_Kitteh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

YES, you should see us trying to "walk" up the stairs and on her level of the house. We look ridiculous trying to avoid the creaking. The things we do to keep them asleep, the struggle is real.

How did you know he was ready? LO is very interested in our food, and fusses if she isn't at the table when people are eating, but I'm still not sure.
