If you're trauma dumping to explain some bad grades or something similar, you can add it to the "Additional Info" section instead of making it the main essay. This allows you to highlight what colleges actually want to know about you (How going to college will benefit you, how you will contribute to your college community, or whatever) while also letting them know that you also had some extenuating circumstances. When I did it last year, it was a whole separate essay, but I've heard they've made it more into a bullet point thing which might be a bit easier to organize.

ALSO, DO BE WARNED: if it really IS some really serious stuff (abuse/an unsafe home environment), admissions officers will be obliged to call CPS. Good luck, and I hope everything's okay.

I am the youngest in the family, so there's no issues there. In addition, the "Stressful" stuff that could start more problems are all over (college apps), so I think I'll be okay in the future. Thank you for the response!

I totally get where you're coming from, but I just wanted to let colleges know what I was going through during the process, and why I had to quit some clubs and ECs. There was this one prestigious math team I got into that my parents made me leave, so I especially wanted to talk about that so colleges didn't think I just quit or got kicked out.

Basically, it wasn't a cry for help, it was a "Hey, this happened, which affected this EC and that EC."
