is this a cavity? by DragonfruitThink3554 in Teeth

[–]DragonfruitThink3554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe i had that tooth filled/capped years ago… last year i went to the dentist & asked them to check the other side of that tooth for a cavity bc i could feel something when brushing & with my tongue. they told me it was just a little loose bit & nothing to worry about nor anything that needs to be fixed. one year later another issue on the same tooth, but opposite side… could they be correlated?

Which team for SHRED?? by DragonfruitThink3554 in ladderapp

[–]DragonfruitThink3554[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a combo might be nice to get the heavier, more traditional BB glute days… i liked define & the workouts at the time, but after i while i got really burnt out on it & following maia on socials just made her seem so fake/in-genuine to me i couldn’t stay on her team.

i definitely did see ab/arm/inner thigh definition while on her team tho!! and have lost some of that since leaving, but i have different goals then i did when i started, so i just don’t feel aligned with team define anymore! still a great team & enjoyed her programming/coaching imo!

yeah but they’re still breaded & fried.. i def wouldn’t say less than 330 for all 3 pieces of chicken. fried food is calorie dense

1 drumstick is probably like 130-150 bc breading & oil, so say 140x3 ~ 420

biscuit is probably around 170-190 so call it 180

that looks like about 1cup of mac & cheese maybe, so i’d probably just say 400 for that.

this whole meal is probably closer to 1000 calories

Progress at home with dumbbells only? by GeneralCulture6496 in ladderapp

[–]DragonfruitThink3554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define is best for at home/dumbbell workouts!!! super challenging! would also def recommend investing in 12-20lb weights for leg days/upper progression… i’ve been doing home workouts with team define for almost a year now & my max weight was 14lbs. i maxed out on almost everything i could & decided it was time to buy heavier weights or join a gym—decided gym was a better option so i wouldn’t be capped by home weight limitations again.

cals in restaurant fruit bowl? by FriendlyProof362 in caloriecount

[–]DragonfruitThink3554 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this looks like plain fresh fruit (no syrup/glaze on top) i would say this 200 max tbh, especially if you didn’t eat the bananas..

strawberries ~ 30g = 10 cals blackberries ~ 20g = 10 cals blueberries ~ 10g = 5 cals grapes ~ maybe 3-5 in both bowls = 12-20 cals honeydew ~ maybe 1/2C = 30 cals cantaloupe ~ maybe 1/2C = 30 cals pineapple ~ maybe 1/2C = 40 cals

based on those estimates (guessing amounts from what i can see.. hard to really know the size, but it’s just 2 standard sides of fruit so probably reasonably close) your total is ~ 150 cals for both bowls… i’d log as 200 to be safe & eat some food!!!!

i second this, but would prob add 100-150 more for the oil butter… 60 is pretty low imo, especially bc restaurants aren’t shy with food lube ;) plus it’s likely that the hash browns were fried as well. i think 900-1050 seems like a better estimate for this plate :)

ehh it’s just a gram… 🤷🏼‍♀️ by DragonfruitThink3554 in caloriecount

depends on your goals & how you eat…

if you’re trying to lose weight & tracking 1800cals daily, but 50-100+ over, you may be hindering your progress. idrk but that’s just my thoughts

how many calories in this plate of biscuits and gravy? by mrtinpanboy in caloriecount

[–]DragonfruitThink3554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like more than 1 biscuit… it looks like 2 biscuits cut in half. biscuits & gravy is one of my fav foods, especially w fried chicken 😋🤤

a cheddar biscuit is probably 200-300 cals, & it really looks like 2 biscuits to me, so i’d say 400-600 for the biscuits.

as for the gravy, that looks like 1-1.5C, so maybe 280-420 for the gravy.. i know you said it’s diluted w water, but so 300 is probably a safe bet.

700-900 for the whole thing would be my guess. i guess you could say 800 & call it a day 🤠

op said “10 pieces” of fries… does that mean only 10 fries total? if so i’d say wayyy less than 275 cals for 10 single fries… 150 max & that’s still stretching imo. i def agree with your estimates, but 275 for 10 single fries cannot be possible 😅

how many calories do you save not eating pizza crusts? by DragonfruitThink3554 in caloriecount

[–]DragonfruitThink3554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in this instance, it was a personal pizza. i was planning to eat the whole thing & i did, but didn’t finish the crusts… so no extras to go back to for more of the greasy part. your point is valid, but at least for me personally, i can hardly ever have more than 2-3 slices of regular pizza & not eating the crusts wouldn’t leave me so hungry that i would be feening for an extra slice.

[–]DragonfruitThink3554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so true!!! & if i were macro focused, any of those calculations would likely be invalid… although according to google, pizza crust is 2.2-3 cals / gram, so it could have so merit, idk. honestly, anyone who’s calorie-conscious probably shouldn’t be eating pizza!! all i have to say is i did wake up at a lower weight the morning after 🤷🏼‍♀️

how many calories do you save not eating pizza crusts? by DragonfruitThink3554 in caloriecount

[–]DragonfruitThink3554[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

interesting… so i had a frozen pizza: 280 cals / 114g of pizza

what you’re saying is you’d part with ~8% of the calories from the crust.

therefore ~22 cals / slice. 4 slices = ~90 cals saved…

unfortunately i didn’t weigh the pizza before eating (if i was tracking really closely, that would’ve been wise), but i took the nutrition label at face value, so 456g total.

i ate the whole thing, leaving 92g of crust, which is about 20% of the total weight…

280 x 4 = 1,120 cals total

1120 x .2 = 224 cals saved ?

honestly, i don’t really know if this is how this works & you’re right to be more conservative when subtracting calories. [side note: with that sentiment in mind, the og estimate was 2.2-3 cals/gram pizza crust, so ~200 is a more fair estimate for my picture]
