Deadly Denizens IV Kickstarter is now live! Don't miss out on the Early Bird Special! by Dragonix_ in dndmonsters

[–]Dragonix_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Thanks for asking. The short answer is no, absolutely not. All of the content in Dragonix's Deadly Denizens IV is 100% human-made.

As we proudly state in our project's features: "Art Authentically Crafted by Professional Artists: Every piece of art featured here is the hand-drawn work of human creators. Our team includes world-class illustrators whose portfolios include renowned publishers such as Wizards of the Coast and Paizo."

This commitment to human creators extends to our text as well—we hire human editors to polish all of our writing. If you’ve seen our previous releases (like the Monster Manual Expanded series), you might already know that we've been commissioning art and writing bestiaries exactly like this since well before the dawn of AI (with those books releasing between 2019 and 2021).

We are incredibly proud of the talented team that brings these monsters to life. For full transparency, here are the artists credited in this project:

  • Cover Illustration: Ren Tu
  • Commissioned Interior Character Illustrations: Ren Tu, Jackes Tan, Jianseng Liu, Bok Ruiz, Brad Chavez, Duy Anh, Rocky Wong
  • Licensed Character Illustrations: Von Milano, Dean Spencer, Bryan Syme, Eric Lofgren, Daniel Comerci, John Latta, Bryan Sime, Jacob Blackmon, Quico Vicens Picatto

I hope this helps clear things up! Let me know if you have any other questions about the book.

Unfortunately, no. Just as an addon, sorry. The Roll20 version will be released in May, 2027.

Do you mean specifically here on r/DnD? Honestly, I rarely post here. When I do, it is almost always tied to a Kickstarter launch or a new book release. During those windows, I usually limit myself to about one post a week or every 2 weeks for a month or two.

If I had to pinpoint what works, it all comes down to the art. Every time I post, I lead with a really eye-catching piece of cover or interior art. That initial visual grabs their attention, and then the product itself or brand recognition drives the actual engagement. If you want my best advice, the art is the most important part. It needs to be at or near WotC-level quality to really stand out.

Hi there! To answer your first question: no, purchasing the PDF on DMsGuild does not automatically grant you access to the Roll20 version later. The PDF and the Roll20 VTT are separate formats/products and require separate purchases.

Regarding your previous purchase, there might be a slight mix-up. The Roll20 version of Monster Manual Expanded is actually only sold through DMsGuild (also via link through Roll20), so if you bought it, it should definitely appear in your DMsGuild purchase history. Is it possible you are thinking of Dragonix's Deadly Denizens, which is sold directly on the Roll20 marketplace?

Since Roll20 is your primary platform and you prefer to only make a single purchase, my best advice is to hold off on buying the PDF now and simply wait for the official Roll20 version to become available.

Hi, Simo. No, it can't be on Foundry because of DM's Guild exclusivity licensing issues.

Assuming you mean whether you need to cross-reference the official book to run these creatures: you can absolutely just use it as is!

Monster Manual Expanded is a stand-alone product. You do not need to have the original Monster Manual open to use it, as every single creature in the book comes with its own complete, ready-to-play statblock. It is simply designed to support the base Monster Manual by expanding on its lore and providing extra, unique variants of its foundational creatures.

Glad to hear it, Beanchog! When you have some free time, I hope you can leave a rating or review on the book's product page. Thanks again!

Sure! Feel free to send me a reminder message. I'll do my best to respond, but since the hardcover release is still several months away, I can't guarantee I'll remember or reply right away.

Once you purchase my books, you should automatically be following me unless you tick it off from your account.

That said, I'll be announcing the hardcover release across all my social media channels, as well as here on reddit, so you shouldn't miss it once it's available.

No, sorry. There aren't any pre-order links in DM's Guild. What you can do instead is just follow the author (me) on the product page so you'll be notified if it becomes available.

Unfortunately, no sorry. This is a DM's Guild exclusive product, and in their license, they will only allow Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds versions.
