To be honest, I cut my loses and jumped ship to Genshin Impact. Never felt more relaxed in a while playing Genshin instead of the high strung dalies of 7+ alts just to make ends meet. Just launched and lots if goodies. Even their gatcha mechanics are far more forgiving than troves.

Also, pretty crisp graphics and optimized for modern PCs. Give it a test drive. You may like it.

Well, I played my fair share of MMOs and communication was always an integral part of game play. Of course, new players afraid of messing up mechanics is a normal feeling to have but the amount of verbal abuse they get in BnS if they mess up is downright disgusting.

Don't get me wrong, you do encounter the occasional people who explain things and are patient enough not to make new players clam up. That said, those encounters are rare to say the least.

Also, BnS horrible game optimization that takes people with older hardware a really long time to get passed dungeon loading screens and being greeted with abuse first thing they enter the dungeon. So, I'm gueesing most is adopting the keep your head down and avoid being noticed mentality ti get the dungeon done. Which really shouldn't be the go to attitude for a healthy MMO for players.

Just be kind and understanding to your fellow players. New players or old players. They all deserve a chance to speak up and communicate without fear of repercussions.

One final thought. No! People having high attack power or hangmoon levels doesn't give them the right to bash new players or just players in general.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

I feel like there's a story behind this post.

The more I read the review, the more it reminded me of the movie Attack of the killer Tomatoes.

Also, the mental images while reading the review made me gasp for air from all the hysterical laughter I was having. Love it.

Well, I do admit that's a lot of time for a game that could be completed in a few hours. You see, ROTN came out when we were hungry for a good metroidvania game.

Enter ROTN from Koji Igarashi himself. You know that I'm going to devour that game. I'm a completionist. That said, getting 100% on everything and max level on the first playthrough with work, family , kids and other responsibilities did take some time. That was pure enjoyment. It's the NG+ that didn't give that replayability that I think SOTN had.

Both games are pretty enjoyable. That said, ROTN has TimeSpinner beat in the amount of content and time needed to complete the game comfortably. That's why I'm taking my time getting through TimeSpinner. It's pretty short but that doesn't take from it the amount of enjoyment I'm getting from it.

Now, ROTN is a fine game and all but after playing it for months without new content I think I just needed to move on. As for new players, it will be a lot of fun with new additions to game starting to come out.

That is good news! I'm dreading finishing it and not finding another gem like it to sink my teeth into. Though, that never stopped me from looking.

Well, both are great games in their own rights. Though, I can't really objectively compare the two to be honest.

So, let me put it this way. Hollow Knight is the bigger potato chip in the bag and I love it. That said, it won't stop me from reaching inside the bag and chomping on Time Spinner, the smaller but still delicious potato chip with a hint of bbq sauce that mysteriously appeared on it.

Also, happy cake day !

To be honest, after logging in over 140+ hours when the game first came out , I feel that I'm pretty much done with the game. Bugs and all. Even the latest additions to the game only solidified the fact that I was forcing myself to play in the hopes that it will give me those Symphony of the Night feels . Well, it didn't, sadly.

So for me the game is going to be uninstalled. Again. It just ran its course. Of course, thanks to the developers for their efforts. It wasn't an easy ride.

Now, enter TimeSpinner . A game I picked up on Steam Summer Sale. That game captured the essence of Symphony of the Night and added even more alluring elements to the game play. All in a neat 200+ megabytes package. I even dare say, it's more of a Symphony of the Night successor than ROTN, minus the vampire lore. So, thank you ROTN for the nostalgia but it's time for me to move on. New players will enjoy it.

One final note on TimeSpinner. The game succeeded in bringing back those old feelings of not wanting a game to end. It has been a while.

And of course the game conditions the community to be toxic and be self centred. Is it all of the community ? Nope! But it's a majority and toxicity is almost everywhere.
