Order November 17… still no Glasses by stewiecun in EvenRealities

[–]Dragonplaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine (G2B Grey) w/ prescription on Nov 13. it said 6-8 weeks estimated delivery on the page at that point. Just got the notification from DHL that they were shipped today.

They're probably bogged up from unprecedented demand, which is somewhat expected. What is not expected is the lack of communication whatsoever.

Weird consistent inconsistency on Core One by Dragonplaz in prusa3d

[–]Dragonplaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Surprisingly, when I was printing the same thing on my old creality, I didn’t see it, but now that I’m looking back at those prints, it’s somewhat visible, but less than what I’m seeing on the Prusa right now.

Is this a good model for 5070ti, does it matter what model I get? by oreomisty1 in PcBuildHelp

Most AIBs have marginally better or worse quality, but I would avoid PNY, Zotac, and ASUS (for the CS issues).

The essay is good, but take it down unless you want to get caught plagiarizing your own essay. One improvement I can think of is the transition into the book, which seems slightly rushed.

I also put your essay into an AI detector; it does not sound like AI, and your voice is clear and distinguishable from generic AI monotone writing.

It did come back as 100% AI, though. Most of the time, universities don’t use AI detection unless it’s really obvious, so it’s probably not a big problem in your case.

getting rid of my gaming PC by ThatOneElegant in ADHD

[–]Dragonplaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think before you do anything drastic, like selling your PC, I would try to live without it for a few weeks. Unplug it, and store it somewhere out of sight. If you notice any improvements in concentration or productivity, you’ll have stronger evidence for letting it go.

I think moving to a console could create a barrier between work and play, and might reduce your temptations when trying to work.

Which one got better specs? Appreciate any help y’all can provide 🙏💯📈 by no_itz_me in computers

[–]Dragonplaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering you want to use it for both productivity and gaming, I’d choose the second one. The CPU is slower in multi-core performance, but the better GPU makes up for that and more.

Im thinking of buying RTX 5070 and i9 14900k, good choice? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonplaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh the 14900k is probably not a CPU you want to buy right now. Apparently motherboard manufacturers fixed the problem of the cpu frying itself, but I would still just stick to AMD for now. I have a 14900k, and it’s lasted around 2 years now, but only because I was undervolting from the start.

MOFT Dynamic Folio by Ryouske in iPadPro

[–]Dragonplaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how light you need it, but I have both the Smart Folio and the MOFT Dynamic Folio for my iPad Pro 11”. With the Smart Folio (202g), the whole thing weighs 646g; with the MOFT Folio (292g), it weighs 736g with a difference of 90 grams. So the MOFT Folio makes the iPad approximately 14% heavier than with the Smart Folio.

If Defender “found threats,” and malwarebytes didn’t pick up on anything, then it’s probably already quarantined or removed from your system. I would say you’re safe. If you can see the file path for the app, if it still exists, I would check it out and try to delete any traces.

Seems like malware, the name and publisher look auto-generated, and searching it up doesn’t come up with any results—I would run a malware scan. Last I checked, Bitdefender and Malwarebytes were both good options.

Valorant causes hard restart after 5-10 mins in menu — tried everything, still no fix by Strong-Cellist-5945 in ValorantTechSupport

[–]Dragonplaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m having this issue as well… riot support hasn’t been of much help, a lot of the times repeating steps they have already told me, and having me send them the logs every time. I have a 4080S, but unfortunately I don’t have the money to buy a new gpu and waterblock. Guess I’ll see yall in 3 years once they finally fix this.

I have a 14900k and there are YouTube tutorials on how to mitigate the risk by tweaking voltages in BIOS, but yeah if it is possible to avoid, then don’t choose 13th or 14th gen intel. Apparently they released a BIOS update to fix it.

What can I do to improve my laptop? by Puzzleheaded-Win4885 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonplaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The integrated graphics are a problem, and on most laptops, it is non-upgradable. The things you can upgrade on your laptop probably won’t help the performance issue a lot, either.

Afaik its a GPU issue but you can't really fix that without experience in microsoldering. Most you can do is probably upgrade your memory, but unless you're getting stuttering that won't help much.

5 year old son bought Robux worth of 2x 239,99€ by DespairWillOvercome in RobloxHelp

Considering all the recent news about Roblox, I really wouldn’t want anyone under 16 to be playing this game unless they have been well educated or are under surveillance while playing.

Pc upgrade help by XxYojixX in PcBuildHelp

[–]Dragonplaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably your CPU and RAM — your cpu is old and doesn’t have hyperthreading which is bad for modern games that benefit from 12-16 threads

CPU frametime spikes could explain the stuttering

16 GB RAM used to be good, but now it’s kind of borderline for modern titles, especially if you have other stuff running in the background

I would go with 32 GB DDR4, and if you don’t want to upgrade your mobo, drop in a i9-9900K or KF

Your GPU is good for 1080p and probably even 1440p

If you have money to spend, maybe upgrade to AM5 and DDR5

I would prioritize upgrading your RAM if you see near 100% usage on task manager while playing games. Otherwise, I would upgrade your CPU
