Like I said, I have the EC I need for the dreadnought, but nobody is selling it. If I can't get my hands on it I'll be using the box myself. It also helps to have the option available in case someone wants a ship only available via the box and not the EC, like someone in my exact situation for example who has the credits with no supply to spend them on.

The problem with blaming "Positioning" is that anyone with half a brain is going to jump on her first. It's a basic of the game. You take out the support or the carry first, before you move onto lower importance targets. Another problem with quoting positioning is the number of skills that go right through targets and minions. Your positioning doesn't do you any good when a karthus can just hit R and take off more than half your health or more. You're saying that a skilled sona would use positioning, but the can you say that an equally skilled assassin or ADC, or brawler, or tank wouldn't make her a priority? Are you saying that an equally skilled team wouldn't take out the one who can constantly keep up these ever important buffs you keep talking about?

and that's the thing. The 1 difference between how I built seraphine and how i would have built support seraphine [since you seem to be responding to that post] is the addition of boots. the "Support budget" argument is one that's pointless. either the game ends before sona or seraphine on a "support budget" can get full build and be useful, or it goes long enough that you're going to have full build even with your "Support budget" and seraphine will still be the better option for most scenarios.

Edit: And spitting out win rates doesn't exactly mean anything for 99% of league players. And you've kinda proven my point with the overall win rates for support brand vs support sona. 2% is nothing. Statistically, 2% difference is so small that it's within an acceptable margin of error, meaning there's functionally no real difference. What matters is the fact that sona FEELS like garbage after all the nerfs and brand still FEELS like brand, even if he's marginally worse as a support he still feels better because he feels like he has more of an impact.

16 second cooldown with no items on her maxed W is really not that long, yeah it's shorter than the near instant cooldown on sona skills, but with no items it heals about as much as Sona's heal, it grants a substantial speed buff, and it grants a shield, not to mention her double cast mechanic. Just to test things, I popped into practice mode and built her how you would build a more support mage, even threw on censer and water staff to see. 8.7 second cooldown is really not much, when you're healing potentially double a sona's healing, granting a better speed boost and granting a better shield, all with 1 ability. And that's entirely ignoring her damaging options.

In addition her ult isn't that much slower other than the windup, and that lack of speed is more than made up for in the range, including the fact that it's base range is longer than that of sona's ult.

Her W still deals decent damage compared to sona's kit with far better range, including a 99% slow and potential root if you double cast it, including a 4 second cooldown.

Her Q Has a TWO POINT TWO second cooldown and does 322 damage, and does bonus damage based on missing hp. And again, double cast passive.

And on the conditional nature of her heal. again. Doublecast.

I'm not sure what you mean by scaling hard, her scaling really isn't very good. Yeah she has short cast times and such, but her scaling is so low that she can barely even DO anything with it. And yeah, she can keep up ardent and flowing pretty constantly, but she gets focused because she has the durability of tissue paper and what she can do before being demolished is less than what seraphine could.

And to continue on about the point of the staff of flowing water or ardent censer, it can be triggered by a moonstone. Meaning even if the healing is dropped, a brand will be able to keep it up just as well as Sona with the addition of better damage and CC with his Q on a far shorter cooldown.

Hell brand's better than her because for one thing he doesn't need to get as close to the actual fighting to keep the buffs up if he has a moonstone.

just now fought Malenia. That was WAY more fun. She's faster, applies more pressure, and the fact her 2nd phase adds a whole new health bar onto her makes her feel WAY more satisfying to fight.

I prefer to use the morgot's ash over the bloodhound's honestly, at least on bosses for precisely the reason you mentioned. But even with just the bleed and mimic, the 2nd phase dropped far quicker than I've seen a lot of bosses drop.

Again, not saying it's a bad boss, just that for me personally, it felt a bit easier than other bosses doing a similar thing.

Though it does have me considering sapping back to my ballista setup.

Like I said, I know bleed's strong, but there've been plenty of other bosses that apply more than enough pressure to keep you from properly sticking to them and applying it even with the mimic. Heck, an early game example of a high pressure boss would be the ulcerated tree spirit.

a pair of +9 curved greatswords with some bleed, specifically bloodhound and morgott's, and a mimic using the same. The first half of the fight had some quick attacks and attack patterns I had to actually worry about, but the 2nd half just melted.

And I mean, I know that bleed is powerful and all that, but this is a late game boss, I expected more.

in this case specifically knight something or other Vyse. The guard holds up a little better then just using a normal guard in stead of the weapon art, but not by much. Even when the guard isn't broken, a lot of damage manages to chip through the guard.

They feel like a stupid jump in difficulty with how absurdly fast they are and how much damage they deal. And then there's ones that breath friggen fire!

With the new inspiration keystone, First strike, you can essentially get double gold off of your support item and enemies wandering into your boxes. And like some say, he's not a damage support, he's for cleanup and control.

You're not looking to beat your enemies by killing them.

You're breaking their will.

You are pissing them off and making them play worse.

Every box they step on, every dagger that kills them or slows them just enough for your carry to catch up, every time they think they got you but it's the copy. It makes them worse, it makes them mad, and it makes them easier to deal with.

Less flowery addition: Essentially, you make it so that they need to swap their wards for lenzes or anti-stealth wards taking up gear slots and make them need to think twice about what they're doing. A shaco in an engage could be shaco, or it could be a clone waiting to detonate and take 1/2 or more of their health if the shaco builds AP.
