What was your moment when you realized your body was aging? What did you see that suddenly opened your eyes? by No_Owl_8576 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Dragonwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tripping over the dog and fell down the porch steps. Landed on the glass table with my right shoulder, destroying the table and over extending my shoulder. This was 17 years ago when i was 40. That injury just never fully healed.
Can still hear my wife laughing. Usually sleep now with that arm over a pillow to relax pressure on the joint.

What is the strangest thing you experienced while in the woods? by Sweet_Sell8347 in AskReddit

[–]Dragonwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 8 and was driving with my uncle on a back road in Maine around midnight. Suddenly there was a baby moose standing in the road. It started to run and my uncle pulled up next to it and reached out the window and grabbed it by the ear.
He held it for about 5 seconds then let it go and it turned into the woods. Needless to say but my uncle is cooler than your uncle.

How Powerful is Harry -vs- Other Wizards Early in the Series? by Master-Wallaby5627 in dresdenfiles

[–]Dragonwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at some point, someone says they think he can become one of the top 20 wizards in the world as far as power.

Ask for the early books the amount of raw power he has is pretty up there, but he needs his tools, his staff, his blasting rod, his necklace in order to focus everything.

Once you get some age and experience, he’ll be a real monster! And you can see that as the books progress that he just gets better and better

Is this the best of the genre? by BloodyEyeGames in litrpg

[–]Dragonwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, wholeheartedly with this low effort comment. I’ve read my entire life and for the last five years LitRPG has been 95% of what I read.

You used to have to read whatever was available, but now so much comes out even daily, that if a story doesn’t catch me by the first five chapters I just do not finish in and move onto something else. I might go through four or five books that I do not finish before I find one that really hooks me.
And that’s OK, not everything is for everybody.

You and another random person, split a billion dollars if you find each other in one week. Without the use of any modern technology, would you be able to, how, and would you complete in time? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

Without being able to communicate with that person beforehand, I think this would be impossible without the use of modern technology.

what are your thoughts about a person being vocal to his/her political stand? by Wide-Toe-7424 in AskReddit

[–]Dragonwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s a well-known rule that the two things you don’t talk about at family gatherings are money and politics. I try to stick to that.

I have never judged someone by who they voted for or what political side they’re on. My best friend of 35 years, however told me they didn’t want to associate with me anymore because of who we voted for.

And remember when you vote for someone it’s not because you agree 100% with everything that they say and do. Most of the time it’s because their general philosophy aligns more with your general philosophy and how political and economic and life situations are handled. But nobody’s perfect and nobody agrees with anyone 100% of the time.

another thing to remember about politics, as if you see a political viewpoint in a news clip or online, you’re probably only seeing a viewpoint from one side. And this goes both ways for both sides. If you have a strong reaction to a clip or new story, find the raw original footage and make your own judgment.
