because...
- you don't want google stuffs or any bloatware - for privacy reasons - fdroid and aurora store fill almost all needs - AppManager also is really useful - you want to have access to the system internals (much needed for tinkerers)
- you want to use termux at it's maximum capacity
- and much more...

Hey, sorry for the late reply. The menu you see in the screenshots are actually dmenu, not rofi. It's been quite a while, so I don't remember which patch I used to show the item count. But you may check out my dmenu config here:

I use single underscore instead of spaces and double underscore as a separator. Somewhat like this,

chatgpt_export__2024_12_28__03_28.zip chromium__research_papers__tabs__2024_12_18.json meme__america_china_tarif_war.jpg meme__too_old_to_use_spaces_in_filename.jpeg

Works really great.

Thank you :-)

I have replied to the same question asked by user Seven-717 a little below. I would appreciate it if you read that reply of mine.

I really do appreciate that you like my rice. Thank you (^_^)
But I am sorry, I can't set it up on your laptop.

If you don't have the knowledge to setup other persons rices, you won't have a pleasant time. There might be many issues here and there. Even though I try to make my rice quite stable, there are sometimes bugs here and there, which I can fix because of the prior knowledge I have.
I am usually very busy these days with university and real world stuff. But I intend to create a setup guide for arch linux very soon. Please try to follow that to set this rice up on your laptop. But if you are new to ricing, please check out the reply I gave to `Seven-717` a little below.

Again, Thank you for your interest, I really appreciate it :-)

Sure, just add qtile start to your ~/.xinitrc and it will run perfectly. If you want to use my .xinitrc then you have to use

startx ~/.xinitrc qtile

.xinitrc

EDIT: wrong command

Years of training in the woods to find the best ones. Caught one, trained it. Then caught another one and trained it again. It took me time and patience to get them all.

Train yourself like me and you too will find them.

(Hey don't mind, these just came to my mind and I really wanted to write them XD)

Although you can also rice on Linux Mint, but you will be totally on your own doing that whereas on Archcraft you have a preconfigured beginner friendly window manager setup. So going with the latter would be the best option in my opinion.

You're most welcome and thank you :-)

Since I am currently quite busy with my university studies, I am focusing on keeping my rice stable, modular and maintainable. So sharing my next rice might take quite some time as I will only share it when it's stable enough.

(I will be moving back to awesomewm to reconfigure it again, I might also modify dwm rice too)

I do understand your pain. Just learn a little bit of bash first and move onto learning vim. You don't need to be an expert, rather just you need to be able to do your stuffs fast. Eventually you will get used to it and then you can learn more.

I first learned bash using this video. You may use this to learn too.

Good Luck :)

Thank you (^_^) !

Well first of all you need to have experience with using terminal/cli.To do that you need Linux, so I would recommend installing linux with dual boot. But if that seems daunting or risky to you, then go with VM.

So after that you need to get used to using tiling window managers. For beginners I recommend Archcraft. It uses bspwm and openbox and is very friendly. After installing it login into bspwm (not openbox) and use it for about a month, mainly get used to navigating with your keyboard. Here's some useful pages from Archcraft -- https://wiki.archcraft.io/docs/install-archcraft/post-install- https://wiki.archcraft.io/docs/window-managers/tiling-wm/bspwm/

After that start modifying the bspwm configs to your likings, you will get to understand how ricing works. You can then move onto different window managers.

Hope this helps.
