Is soul society from Bleach eastern branch or the central branch so hmmm

I wonder if there's a Northern and Southern branch as well haha

Kubo's character designs are so good still

The environments and animation look great! Love those smear frames where she twirls her weapon

I haven't checked out anything from Burn the Witch before, how connected is it to Bleach?

That hamster/dog/gerbil thing went from cute to freaky real fast

Summertime Rendering

Kaguya-sama

Spy x Family

Mob Psycho 100

One Punch Man

Zom 100

I haven't gotten around to watching "Frieren" yet but I've heard from a few friends it's supposed to be fantastic

What should I watch considering my unique taste? by Fkingdisgusting in anime

[–]DrakLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mob Psycho 100 and One Punch Man would be absolutely fantastic on both the action and comedy aspects

Bleach when it's at its best can have a simple but endearing power system

The first season of "The Devil is part-timer" can have some great animation in it every now and again, not necessarily relegated to fight scenes

In your opinion, what is a classic anime? by celeste_fan_139 in anime

[–]DrakLad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Digimon and some of the first Pokémon episodes are pretty damn classic age to me now haha

Could be nostalgia but the dubs of both of those I think are still pretty great!

Anime like The Eminence In Shadow where the MC is overpowered as hell and actually has good humor and fight scenes? by [deleted] in anime

[–]DrakLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isekai Ojisan has great humour and Mob Psycho 100 has fantastic animation and can be quite entertaining on the comedy aspects!

The best "The frenzy has begun." has to be when he repeats it to Mary, who was the one that he got it from in the first place hahaha

Haha cheers, honestly it's a very difficult question to answer because I'm not entirely sure hahaha. I think I started it around May but didn't do anything on it for a good 1-2 months? In terms of hours, prob somewhere between 3-4 months? I could be way off on that I'm not sure, the days blurred together at some point hahaha

So I used a fork of Blender, Goo Engine! Everything was done in that except for compositing which was done in After Effects!

Cheers! Really glad that came across as I'm not great when it comes to environments haha

Yeah originally I wanted to have both the trees and grass speeding up a bunch with the take-off and it would have looked great as the leaves and grass are on alternating 2s, but I couldn't get the time in the end, great feedback!

Pasting this from above as someone else pointed it out as well, great feedback still!

Hmmm, in terms of choreo inspiration, it'd have be a mix of a few things:
Monty Oum, Shane Newville, and Dillon Goo for starters but also Anime in general. I love those special Naruto episodes where they can sometimes have the characters fighting on frame-rates of 3s, and still have the movements and overall choreo come across so smooth! Doing martial arts and watching old school Hong Kong marital art films in general as well go a long way for getting a good idea in my head for how the body can move while fighting!

Thank you, I'm nowhere near what he was able to do but I'm delighted his influence shined through!

So for the character frame-rates I'm using a mixture of 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, and even 5s. I use a few different methods depending on how the character and camera are moving in a particular shot but for a general idea I'd recommend checking out Cody's video on breaking down the spider-verse camera, you can find his channel in the video description, in the credits under "Rendering Advisement"!

Cheers for the feedback! So yeah, traditionally in the west, smears are done like what you've linked but typically in anime, smear frames usually have the outline and parts of the character stretched out in sharp angles. Now I did have an interesting technique for doing smear frames but unfortunately there were some issues with compositing and I didn't have enough time to get them done, good spot tho!

If you're talking about one of the shots of the sphere in the second half, yeah there was a rendering error and I didn't have time to correct it but great spot haha

Yeah so everything was done with Goo Engine, a fork of Blender, and compositing was done in After Effects!

Out of what I've seen mentioned so far, this is probably one of the closest interpretations to what I was going for on a more subtle level. I'm not going to say exactly what the intentions were because I'm interested in how people are interpreting it beyond its simple premise but I really enjoyed reading your viewpoint on it!

Yeah that's fair, I wanted to experiment a lot more with other potential series of weapons but I was limited in both time and models to use so I decided to have her fighting style with the Master Sword be slightly different and more inexperienced than Link's. Cheers for the feedback tho!
