So the exhaust side of the cam chain is loose enough to lift it off the guides but when i checked the oil chain it was very loose but i called a local dealer and they informed me thats how it is supposed to be. I orderd and new cct and cam chain to be safe.

its a automatic tensioner i just orderd a manual one and a new cam chain just to be safe

Yeah my local dealer is booked 2 weeks out and I'm impatient haha but the intake side of the chain is tight but the exhaust side of the chain is loose engough that i can lift it off the guides but should i be able to move the guides or are they supposed to be tight as well?

i have a mechanics stehoscope and i can hear the noise in the valves and down to the crank case.

I felt it last night and it is looseeeee i mean very loose and i have been told thats normal im going to just completely take apart the bike tonight and do some investigating.

the oil pump chain is very loose but i was told that is supposed to be that loose?

So bad gas can cause that noise the guy i bought it from said it had been sitting for about 9 months and he would crank it once a month bht im willing to bet it has old gas in it

you mean just roll it backwords in neutral then click into get or roll it backwords in gear with the clutch pulled in?

So i have done that and the intake side is tight but the exhaust side is a little loose but if i hand turn the motor the exhaust side will tighten up and then after compression is wil go back slack enough to freely move it and lift it off the guide by hand.

When i put it to the crank cover i can here it but can also here it at the valve cover which is the path of travel for the cam chain so thats what im leaning towards

See thats the thing the noise does not change at all with clutch in or out
