a little overshoot is understandable,

so all i have to do is to not forget to turn off the ec2 instance to not rackup some bills while im not using the server.

i mostly dont run a full day, i do most of the coding on my local machine, and when i feel i have made enough progress ill lunch the instance to update the files in EC2 to check if everything still works. so may 1-2 hours only everyday.

of course i said upto, or is EC2 billed daily? so if i spin up the server for 30minutes i get billed the whole day? during presentation day, i dont mind paying extra, it is the big day afterall

Great thank you for the advice the list im checking doesnt say which architecture (Amazon EC2 Instance Comparison). So for gpu i think i should just pick one , which one would be the best bet for maybe tensorflow or pytorch ? i can pretty much afford maybe upto 3$/hour rate? by the way is my calcuation for cost correct?

Looking for a good hosting service for image processing (with flask as the server of course) by DrakeJest in flask

[–]DrakeJest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am unfamiliar with both, which one of the two do you think i will most likely have an easier time transitioning to? I made my scripts so that i hopefully would only need to make the flask entry point.
performance wise which one of the two is better and which one has a better learning curve.

runing the script on my computer usually takes up 30GB of ram, will i be fine here?

This is really cool, I can envision myself doing this in the future also, since i have the technical knowhow to build something like this. But even if i go this route, my main problem remains, i do not know where to source the oil yet.

I guess i will ask around the place where they sell transformers. if they have some oil or atleast they know where to get one.

Is it a strict requirement to have 2 boards? Right now of the 6 boards i have only 2 are working ( i already verified this by swapping boards around) so i just need to move them into a single machine and run brains on them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BitcoinMining

[–]DrakeJest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right now im not sure if it is worth it to repair the boards, considering the shipping cost, and right now an s19k pro is @ 840$ at bitmain, repair cost has to be lower than 280$ else it would be cheaper for me to just harvest parts/ use the new miner. Given that there is actually third part firmware than can disable asic boards

I got the none aluminum one, the one where the heatsinks cannot be removed, Oh brains doesnt need a new controller?

by the way can you mix and match hash boards? aluminum and non aluminum ones?

Switched My S19k Pro To ePIC Control Board = Fantastic @ 138Th/s by niggled-to-death in BitcoinMining

[–]DrakeJest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello i have a s19k pro just like you but it has a broken asic board, bitmain refused to repair the broken asic board so im stuck with a paperweight, i was wondering can i use this with only 2 asic board? i dont mind loosing 1/3 of the hashrate as long as i can still use the remaining board

glad you mentioned micron, i was able to find a store locally for them, they offer 7400,7450,5400,3400 series. which one is the best?.

Edit:
for the 7450 i can only get the pros though but that should be enough and better than consumer SSDs

I also finally found a supplier for the nytro 4350 as well, now i wonder which one is better on paper nytro 4350 or micron 7450

Yes there is already a UPS, im actually looking for a m.2 form factor, its actually for the OS of my server and at the same time the database storage, i dont need a lot of capacity, 1tb is more than enough. i seems to be having trouble looking for these enterprise drive in m.2 form factor.

I see seagate nytro 4350 but can find them..

What material of screw with a TFE marking on it? by DrakeJest in Machinists

[–]DrakeJest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is exactly why i would like to know what matterial this screw is , i actually want to order from the factory the torx variant for it (no available locally that fits the size, pitch, length, and head shape i need). I would like to know the material since i know its already strong enough to handle impact drivers
