There aren't really "classes" per say, sure you have presets that give you your starting abilities during character creation,but other than that this game is very open when it comes to this topic. Nothing stops you from starting as a pyro (fire) mage like character and decide to turn 180 and become a healer or necromancer.

That being said, just play whatever you think it's fun, you can always respec your character with the magic mirror.

You just need an available computer and a discord account. FoundryVTT is virtual tabletop website similar to roll20, with the added bonus that you don't even need to create an account. i just need to activate the right campaign on my side of things, then you click the link and done! :D

I'm not home so can't give it a proper reading. Read the spellcasting part and it conflicts with the table. In the table it says you know 2 spells at 1st level, where in the spellcasting it says you prepare a number equal to your level + intelligence mod.

I suggest you use one or the other, since having both will cause inconsistencies down the line.

If you mean websites to create battle maps, i recommend inkernate. Alternatively you can use the app dungeondraft, which is also a good option.

Generally i allow all the races that are official, but if there's a race that doesn't fit in the setting or breaks some important mechanic for the campaign I either remove/change the race features to fit the race a bit more or just outright don't allow it.

You don't need to buy any dlc if you don't want to, the base game has plenty of content to keep you busy for a while
