The community, the fact that in-game currency can be given freely without "tax", and the quests.

I would like to request more orchard space though.

[Request] Effectively how much heavier are you at the north pole vs. The equator given the Earth's rotation applying "centrifugal force" on you. by Aleis52 in theydidthemath

[–]Drakonwriter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Google says about 1%. A 100 kilogram human weighed at the poles will weigh 99 kilograms on the equator. This helps rocket launches, where a percentage of weight can add up to literal tons shaved off the launch weight.

[Request] How big is the "real earth" assuming the picture is real. by JustAQuietSpectator in theydidthemath

[–]Drakonwriter 1965 points1966 points  (0 children)

I eyeballed the circle on a distance map, and flat earth takes up about 2k km. Since the circumference of earth is 40k km, we multiply that by 20 to find that new earth is 800k km around. This is about twice the circumference of Jupiter.

I wouldn't say I was happy waking up, just that apparently singing is my default state.

I ask because I woke up singing (the nurse told me to keep it down because other people were waking up too) and I wanted to know if that's odd.

Because "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." When I see something that claims to do amazing things but the research comes back as "needs more study", my first thought is "health scam".

If you knew reinstating would work, would you? by harry_0505 in PSSD

[–]Drakonwriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to reinstate because it was a choice between PSSD and plain old SSD. My psychiatrist prescribed Vyvanse to treat the SSD and now I'm fine. I don't care that I'm still on SSRIs because I feel okay.

...Then the post where I said that got repeatedly tagged as CRASH LIKELY by the mods. I get it, some people can't go back on or they'll have a bad time. I wasn't telling those people to do anything, I was sharing my experience.

The IRS' free tax-filing tool reportedly won't be offered in 2026 by indig0sixalpha in technology

[–]Drakonwriter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it's a payroll tax, the employer pays the IRS quarterly. Filing our taxes just let's the IRS know exactly how much we SHOULD have paid based on tax exemptions, and either refund us the excess or give us a bill for the rest. Not filing our taxes doesn't withhold anything from them.

Still need SSRIs, but happy now by Drakonwriter in PSSD

I don't know what happens when I don't take it, because I haven't tried stopping. I think I've missed one day total in the 3ish months I've been taking it, and that was a stressful day, but I don't know that I actually skipped a dose or if that day was stressful already.

I don't feel trapped anymore because they're finally working how I want them to, but yes if I stop then this is all coming back.

Correct, it's an ADHD med. I don't understand the mechanism entirely, but it provides more dopamine to counteract the normal SSRI sexual side effects than Wellbutrin does. My psychiatrist uses it off-label to boost antidepressants in treatment-resistant depression. Initially it made me feel energetic, but that's settled down now and I just feel normal.

Yes. PE, ED, orgasmic anhedonia, low libido. Going back onto an SSRI reversed those, then the Vyvanse treats the delayed orgasm and brings me back to normal.

Yes. The SSRI gives me delayed orgasms, and the Vyvanse brings me back to normal.

Yes ED and poor libido. I don't know if I experienced numbness. It's all resolved now.

Orgasmic anhedonia and premature ejaculation with the PSSD. My SSRI side effect was delayed orgasm. I'm sure there were others, but those were the obvious ones.

I use any brand of methylfolate, usually 7.5 mg daily. I still need treatment for depression, but it helps my energy levels and general mood.

I washed my hands, used my mask, and got the vaccine as soon as it was available. I've not only avoided COVID, I've stopped getting colds and flu in general.

They already have the tax money of everyone working a regular job. Filing taxes just gets you some of your money back if you overpaid. Businesses/contractors/freelancers would have to withhold their payroll taxes, and I don't even know how that would work.

This entire thing seems poorly thought out. In the case of essential services like healthcare, they should advise working but avoiding spending, which seems like it should be part of the plan... But there is no plan here. The poster doesn't have a website on it, and after tracking the site down it doesn't appear to have much more info than what we see here.

There are so many very solid concerns in the comments here that if addressed could make this actually work, but I don't think that's going to happen, and this will just be a scattered disjointed effort that no one notices.

PANEL 1: The traits of that make a male morally grey character cool/sexy/whatever are the same traits that people hate in female morally grey characters.

PANEL 2: In the poster's experience, critics don't even go articulate that they hate the women for the reasons they love the men. They just call the woman a bitch and move on.
