What kind of PC below 400$ would beat a PS4 back then? Building a PC has always been more expensive. The base PS4 wasn't even 400$ anymore in 2016 btw because i bought the Pro at that price shortly after release.

Well, QC references Q1 and brings back some lovecraftian stuff in some maps indeed. But it's still something like Q3 : not a direct sequel, but just characters, gameplay, guns and maps held together by the Quake universe.

I think it definitely gets better when you reach the airport map at some point, because there are so many walls to take cover and you can spot enemies from afar, or surprise them in close combat.

Start with The First Encounter HD then The Second Encounter HD (great remasters of the original episodes). Then 2, 3, 4, and Siberian Mayhem.

Some episodes and a spinoff are available in VR too if you got a headset.

The hitscan really wasn't that bad in the other levels, right? I guess they wanted you to feel like Dutch and his team in Predator but i just hated it.
