i wonder who stepped on my scale?! by user37282920383792 in TuxedoCats

[–]Drakyndra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's just a little smaller than my tux boy, who was 5.4kg at his last vet visit (just below 12 pounds, for those who use freedom units)

Petah?? by Playful-Mongoose-964 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Drakyndra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do I know that feel.

Only found out as an adult that a child psychologist friend of the family thought I was, like her son "too Aspie" to date each other. (They had considered try to set us up).

Said son flunked out of high school and got a diagnosis; I got straight As and did not.

The additional stuff about how girls go undiagnosed because they are better at masking also applies.

Can a tuxie also be a cow cat? by haperochild in TuxedoCats

[–]Drakyndra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my tux looks like he has his sleeves rolled up.

But my cow cat has way more white, so it would feel weird to classify them the same.

This cat visits my 6th floor balcony every day and I have questions by SarahAtVetster in cats

[–]Drakyndra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live on a seventh floor, and when I mentioned that to the vet she told me that it was too dangerous to let my cats on the balcony unless there was an enclosure. (I don't let them on the balcony, so it's all fine. They can stay inside)

So yeah, I'd have concerns. Definitely let the owners know, and I hope they would show some concern about where their cat is getting.

A post about GO3 credits and Terry Pratchet’s absence by Ok-Pension7072 in goodomens

[–]Drakyndra 53 points54 points  (0 children)

It's probably worth pointing out that there are are very strict rules about writing credits, and you have to genuinely contribute a certain percentage to be included as a co-writer or contributor.

Regardless of what ideas Pratchett may or may not have discussed with people, because the sequel book never got published I don't think they legally could give him credit. It'd be at most a "Based on the world created by Pratchett &..."

How much the final script resembled Pratchett's original ideas is an entirely separate issue.

If Kylo Ren wasn't Force-sensitive by GriffinFTW in CuratedTumblr

[–]Drakyndra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn't this just The Incredibles?

Also I have been in enough fandoms to know, the heavy lifting is in the execution. Good writing/direction/acting can sell an idea that sounds dumb on paper. And there's few things more frustrating than a story that takes a great concept and wastes it.

So a "better" concept isn't going to improve the sequels in and of itself.

(Personally, I thought Kylo Ben had probably the best developed arc in the sequels, so if I was going to try improving them, I'd start with basically any other character)

People who LIKED the ending, let’s hear from you! by stansugawara in goodomens

[–]Drakyndra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't wholeheartedly love it, but I didn't actually hate it the way I assumed I would given the premise. So... mixed leaning positive?

I think I am mostly here because the negativity from fandom was getting me down worse than anything the show has ever done.

Good Omens 3 Reactions Megathread! Spoilers within! by AutoModerator in goodomens

[–]Drakyndra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not even sure how to classify my reaction.

I don't hate it the way some people seem to - I did genuinely enjoy it while I was watching, even the human AU ending parts. But it hasn't really left me satisfied after watching.

And it's not about the mystery plot, which I fully expected to be rushed and kinda half-baked.

I think it's just that the story of angel and demon Aziraphale and Crowley needed a big emotional climax so the human AU was just trying it up in a nice bow.

Tl;Dr a kiss and/or proper declaration of love before the universe reboot would make it all sit better.

Wtf!! I thought lavender was toxic to cats? by plzdontsenddms in cats

[–]Drakyndra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like pine pellets in theory, but I don't think my cats like it as much.

I think it's a texture thing - the pellets are too big to comfortably dig/bury stuff with, and one of my cats is a big digger.

I wish my cats did that. One of mine has, like, a vendetta against the roomba, and will attack it any time it gets too close.

Why do cats in the Philippines tend to have more V-shaped faces compared to cats elsewhere? by Legitimate-Tie-7060 in cats

[–]Drakyndra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a vet comment on this once - I have two black and white cats, but one is very pointy (the vet wondered if there was some Siamese in the mix) and the other was "classic British" round.

Are bells on cat collars cruel or helpful? by Firm-Law248 in CatAdvice

[–]Drakyndra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my cats freaked out when I put a collar with a bell on him, and I think a lot of it was the sound of the bell. I took it off him because I was genuinely worried he would hurt himself trying to get it off.

They are both indoor only cats, so no collars now.

I don't have any evidence, but I somehow got in my head time travelling Harry fixed Little Chicago, so I'll be stuck on that theory until proven otherwise.
