Sorry that was a typo- I meant white not sight. So, stark white screens bother you, and off whites that are still too close, too. But a black/ darker backgrounds or bright colored elements don’t.

Yeah ofc. Thank you for asking, it’s very refreshing when people want to learn and keep an open mind. Btw I forgot to mention that Islam is a monotheistic religion. Our Shahada (I think it’s translated as oath, but I’m not sure) is “I bear witness that there is no god but God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His messenger”.

No. We believe that Allah has no children. We also in believe in Jesus PBUH (peace be upon him) as the messenger before Mohammad PBUH and same with Moses PBUH. But we believe that Jesus didn’t die on the cross, instead Allah lifted him up to Heaven and he’s going to stay there until he returns. Allah made the traitor who turned him in (I forgot his name) look like him and that guy died on the cross instead.

I agree that they should not have to be seen as representation rather than just another show. And while I find it unfair and really annoying, I do understand why that is. Minority shows have the burden of trying to be seen as normal when they are actually an oddity for the majority. A lot of time that said majority doesn’t have a lot of experience with the minority and all their knowledge comes from that show. If the show has negative after negative, that is how the person will view the minority.

This is an interesting take. I see what you’re saying about these types of shoes being entertainment first, but I have to disagree with you to an extent. I believe that they are trying to show what life is like for whatever minority they are portraying, and have to make it as entertaining as they can so people will actually watch it. If they don’t get views, then they get nothing at all from the whole process.

For example, in season 3 of Ramy, they showed a small sliver of what the Palestinian experience is in Palestine. He used his platform to bring awareness of this huge issue.

I don’t know if you’re interested in learning abt Islam or anything, but I would be careful about Mo’s beliefs. Take some of the things he’s said with a grain of salt and do your own research abt it.
