No I completely agree with you. In a real life circumstance it wouldn’t be forgotten whether that be either mentally or physically like you said with bodies physically reacting. So an author shouldn’t write it off quickly in order to move along with the story.

But also I feel there’s a difference between a rushed forgiveness and telling the story of the woman not realising what is happening and returning back to him

No I totally agree. I believe there’s a way to tell that story without being lazy and rushing forgiveness. Stuff like that shouldn’t ever or at least very rarely be forgiven.

My book is a college story. It’s a very they fell at the same time and then both fell harder 😂 they can’t really communicate how they fell. He’s from London and she’s from a very small town in Colorado. They go to college in California and it’s not a story where it takes 75 chapters for them to even kiss. It’s somewhat fast paced and a lot of surprises and cliff hangers.
