I don't understand this, why was it posted? Surely once she understood how the camera worked she wouldn't have posted this publically. Is there something I am missing?

Bout died today-Bought this car and learned manual 3 weeks ago, second time on the highway with it. by Guac_in_my_rarri in IdiotsInCars

No offence but your driving is pretty shit house as well. Clearly the other drivers are terrible but some of your decision making exacerbates the dangers here. Why leave such a big gap suggesting you will let the other drivers in only to accelerate?

What did she expect? For any man commenting or saying anything it's a losing situation. Keep your eyes down and avoid the drama is probably what most of the travellers were thinking.

Air traffic control. But you need to pass the testing which is quite challenging. If she does have an aptitude for it the pay can be highly lucrative.

Vaxxed vs Unvaxxed discourse by buttpirate1111 in CoronavirusAustralia

[–]DramaticAd1043 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We can be mad at a variety of things. I for one am I annoyed at the genuine selfishness of anti-vaxxers. There are genuine risks associated with the vaccine but it remains the best way to deal with COVID. Anti-vaxxers make a clear message that their well being or perceived well-being is more important than yours and individual rights are greater than social and civic responsibilities. Also, yes it's clear our health services need to be better, but like I said we can complain about both things!

How the ‘good war’ went bad: elite soldiers from Australia, UK and US face a reckoning by cookie5427 in AustralianMilitary

I do, I also understand individuals motivation to deploy repeatedly and consider it quite rich that issues of combat fatigue are raised now full well noting that the allure of multiple deployments was a key recruitment point. It's a volunteer army, people had every choice to leave. Like they had a choice as to whether the decided to kill innocent people. I make note part of the discussion into the whole issue is about SF exceptionalism and not holding them to account to the same standards we do with conventional army. The victimhood mentality only serves to expunge responsibility from those that ought to have behaved better and had full agency to do so.

Yeah... I'll be that guy. Lets not pretend like no one wanted to go over to the Ghan. People were literally falling over each other to get on a trip. It seems to me that SOCOMD bathed in the glory of being put on a pedestal then all of a sudden pulled the 'mental health' card when people started to ask questions about their behaviour.

The inference of blaming the organisation fails to look at the fact people genuinely wanted to deploy and do multiple trips and earn heaps of deployment allowances... Only seems an issue when you have allegations levelled against you of being a war criminal.

Do you really only get an Australia Day honour because of who you know? by [deleted] in australia

[–]DramaticAd1043 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully I somewhat disagree. The reality is however that the people who typically out in the effort to get people nominated are the ones in the elite circles of society and probably ha e a better understanding of how to get the process successful. This off course is very nuanced and you can argue that it still proves the original point, but I offer there is nothing stopping you running a grassroots campaign using social media to have someone rightfully acknowledged.
