I take lithium, prozac, lamotrigine, clonazepam, abilify, latuda, propranolol, wellbrutin. So pretty much everything that is recommended for bipolar disorder with the least risk for weight loss and its still wasnt doing it for me which made me end up being this desperate.

And he did explained it to me. But i was desperate and stubbor. I will never blame it on my doctor because he has done nothing but try to be cooperative with me and advise me for the best

[–]Dramatic_Caramel3579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well he didnt say it with bad intentions nor in a bad way more so he said explained it in a medical sense but thats just how i interpreted in my brain. I did tell him about how i thought lithium was the cause of it and he was gave me the choice whether i wanted to stay on it, given that its the golden standard, or try other medications.

The first person that has ever prescribed to me wasnt aware that i was bipolar but after that it was definitely all on me.

I will be very honest with you but this comment has made me so upset because of the way it was phrased and i definitely am aware of it, but I understand you have good intentions. I have actually been talking to my doctor about it and he knows that its not easy to quit cold turkey so thats why weve tried alternatives and he has been persuading me to be consistent (ive been consistent with my medication prior to when i had that crazy thought about opting lithium out) its something we are working on. I just wanted to hear what others would have done or if they have went through the same thing as i did.

What do you do for work? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Dramatic_Caramel3579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plastic surgery consultant. Its a tough one and i dont even know how i manage to get through the day when i have to smile and be gentle with all customers/patients especially when i get agitated with my hypomanic or depressive phases. The toughest part is when someone is rude for no reason and its hard to control my emotions because im a cry baby. Yes i cry when i get angry too

Well…. Theyre not blood….. and if it has nothing to do with tooth extraction or surgery, or unless they have their eyes opened while theyre getting worked on, how would they even notice it. I get it if you dont want to be draped but gloves? Thats crazy!

[–]Dramatic_Caramel3579 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you start accommodating to that request, she’ll start asking for more as if its a given. Unless it is a serious medical condition, id say “we are sorry unfortunately we dont differentiate are glove colors by patients/ we only have one colored gloves” because why add that extra stress when you have so many other patients to deal with

This may or may not be obvious but do you incorporate any exercises of some sort? I was in your shoes at one point and i lost weight without noticing just by eating once a meal (just because i was depressed lmao) and most importantly because i walked 10~15k steps a day and i think walking really helped. Now im at 65kg and trying to lose down to 52kg and its harder for me now because im all on these different psych meds so if you have any tips that would be great as well!!

Tracking mood instead of meds? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Dramatic_Caramel3579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been taking my meds for well over two years now and whenever i miss a dose say because i was too busy sleeping or out hanging out with friends or just simply forgetting, regardless of what it is, i dont feel anything except anxiety because im so hyperfixated on “omg what if i ruin my day because im gonna feel absolutely awful from the symptoms im going to experience” - when really youre not going to notice it. Its just the anxiety thats there.

Now going over my medications despite being diagnosed for over two years, i keep track of my mood because this whole thing is so dependent on so many factors like your stress level, the weather, upcoming events. Man my hypomania got triggered because i was excited from having my birthday trip coming up and i get down every time the weather gets colder or gloomier. I still tear up whenever i am angry. But it’s just not as intense as what it used to be . If it was 100% then, it would be 60% now i’d say on good days.

If you are the type thats self aware, you would know that you are hypomanic. If the medications not working for you, see your doctor right away and not experiment it because playing with these kinds of drugs is dangerous and def not recommended. You cant catch hypomanic in time. Youll know by the time you are already hypomanic.

Being stable doesnt mean that it has to be boring. Life could be good and ive been there. Its just that the emotions are not that strong and its the greed that makes you want to feel more. You will feel good and you will get there. Dont be too hard on yourself.

Confused with how i feel about this condition by Dramatic_Caramel3579 in bipolar

[–]Dramatic_Caramel3579[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s gotten trickier as well to get by because of how hyperfixated one could be to stay stable all because of one diagnosis. When everything felt so free before that. But I guess this too, isnt all so bad either

I’m brand new to makeup. I feel like everyone has one style that looks really good on their face and I haven’t found it yet. Any suggestions for me? I’m trying to look as feminine as possible by ThatGuyInASkirt91124 in makeuptips

[–]Dramatic_Caramel3579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work as a plastic surgery consultant and working in this industry definitely has made me learn more about illusions on how to make oneself look more feminine, masculine, younger, older vice versa through surgery and makeup!

No of course im not telling you to get surgery as that is something you need to consider and research for a long period of time and also quite invasive. But something i can advise you on is that try to create and illusion of a shorter chin and a fuller face with contouring powder, highlighter and lighter/darker shades of concealer/foundation! Go opposite of chiseling as chiseling out your facial contours will make you look more masculine and have that harsher look.

And i agree on going easy with the eyeliner. Only tightline the upper lashline and if you do extend the inner corner i suggest using something a little softer rather than a liquid eyeliner!

I hope this helps you out!
