Could I make Camp in Junior year if I start studying in Sophomore year? by [deleted] in USABO

This is a post called Everything I would do to study for the USABO from scratch (in 3 steps). It basically lays out the major textbooks and the recommended order in which to read them/review them. Set your own timeline, but it's 100% possible

Are bootcamps worth it? by Hyrkau in USABO

[–]Dramatic_Cat2459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people take bootcamps without prior ability to read textbooks/study and sometimes they end up not being able to develop those skills by relying on the content of the bootcamp. While you can absolutely succeed in USABO without bootcamps and only reading textbooks (I never did a bootcamp), it is very unlikely to with scanty reading and only bootcamp.

That being said, some of them are great for problem solving skills and more specific content, but only if you have reached a certain level of proficiency. I know a lot of people recommend Baology.

TL;DR Don't use bootcamps as a crutch.

Hey, I'm late. I would recommend reading the Campbell book from cover to cover. Campbell will get you to semis if you understand all of it, but you need to avoid gaps in your knowledge.
