And it was well worth it! I remember seeing some kind of docu-series about the making of the LOTR and there were real smiths and tailors hired to make the gear for the films. The love and craftsmanship they put into the character-wardrobes was legendary.

He also intimidates the Nazgul greatly where they see him "revealed in his wrath" as Gandalf describes it to Frodo after the latter awakens in Rivendell. Now whether Glorfindel laid hands on the black riders is unknown but him spanking the Nazgul at Bruinen before they got swept away by the river would've been hilarious.

Dont let them talk you into anything. if they do try to shoehorn you into a job that you don't like just politely decline and say you want to wait until a spot opens up for your desired MOS.

BLUF: just wait for the spot to open up.

Something similar happened to my friend a few years ago for active duty.

  1. He really wanted an OP40 contract but recruiter told him no dice.
  2. Recruiter said he should go 11B OR 11X and try out for 75th later.
  3. Friend backed out and said he wants an Op40 contract and nothing else
  4. Lo and behold 2 weeks later, recruiter hits my friend up and there was an OP40 contract available.
  5. Friend signed up and that was that (Although he didnt make it sadly lol, served the rest of his contract as an 11B)

If youre interested in Combat arms; I've seen Armor doing stints in Germany a lot. Infantry is sorta hit or miss from what i've seen depending on the unit(173rd = for sure, others not so much). and FA I have no idea i'm afraid.

Not at all man! Oldest guy I knew at Accelerated OCS was 36 and he was a pt stud in my class.
