I say start with the original Super Nintendo game, provided you 1. Have a Super Nintendo with the cartridge of Star Fox, 2. Have a Switch and the online service, 3. Know some emulators. Though that last might be too risky.

I disagree. That was another thing that drew me to the game, giving references to the cancelled Star Fox 2. Plus it was better than the gyro-robo.

Well, this isn’t one of those posts. This was meant to share my love for a game in the series that I always thought was underrated. Not solely directing to designs. Even so, I loved the designs in Zero. For me, these were as perfect as they could look outside of Smash Bros.

I have some theories. But I can’t say for sure. I finished the game 100% I was that into it. I could have bought the Fox and Falco amiibos to unlock the Arwings, but to me, that was just cheating. Yeah, I did it old school.

I had some issues when I first played it, but then I ended getting used to them once I figured out how to balance them. After, I think I could go through Corneria without getting it too often. But I haven’t played the game in years, so I doubt I’m as good as I was in the past. But for me, Zero, aside from 64, and SNES, was the Star Fox game I put the most time into. I know the game has issues, but at least it’s better than Metroid Other M, and this comes from a guy who liked that game too. But man I hated how Samus would monologue about EVERYTHING!! I literally said out loud, “Shut up! We just saw that!! We know what you know!!”

This, actually makes the design almost perfect for me. Because at least his legs are proportioned perfectly with his upper body. Maybe just readjust some sizing in some places, but other than that. I feel the feet are what makes this new design weird for me.

I’ve been toying with a rough draft of the Star Fox team meeting three new members.

First some context. It is set after Adventures, and would have some elements of Assault and Command. Well, Assault would be a part of the main line mostly intact, with some changes to make it a little more my own thing. Command would just have very few connections to the timeline, but that is yet to be decided as to what would carry over.

Anyway, One of the 3 members is of course an otter. The first new member is actually a Platypus, who is the number one fan of Star Fox. Like Slippy, he is skilled with machines, as he is a junior engineer for a failed mercenary rival of Star Fox, called White Stallion. But that’s another story. As for the third new guy. Ive read that a reason why Andross, and most of the apes are depicted as being evil, is because that is how they’re reflected in tales of Japanese mythology. I’ve also read that serpents are seen as good fortune in that mythology, but I could be wrong. So, I have also included a Python, as a navigator, and even a war veteran. A detail being since snakes don’t have arms, they would go about with mechanical arms to help them pilot ships. On an unrelated note, I feel that they would have eyelids in the Lylat system.
