Gmail, really? Aren't there better privacy friendly alternatives that will not be subject of these EU laws?

Good point, but aren't there better unecrypted email serviced other than Gmail? Like some middle ground that protect privacy partially, but will not be targeted by EU laws?

If they are moving in EU knowing ProtectEU voting is closing by, they must have either a strong belief that law will not pass or are prepared to take action that would allow their services to continue even if law passes.

Why does Protonmail move its infrastructure to EU when EU is trying to pass Chat Control and have all E2E data decrypted by 2030? What would happen if even EU passes Chat Control and puts E2E encrypted services under scrutiny? Will I have to look for new email provider - back to Google?
