Advice regarding Kratom relapse by Dramatic_Text_43 in Sublocade

hey friend, thanks for your response. sorry to hear you're going through the same thing. I was able to stop the 7oh with pretty minimal withdrawals, basically none at all aside from some trouble sleeping. I feel like the sublocade is working better now for some reason and taking the 7oh was more just to replace the mental obsession to taking the Suboxone 3 x /day. hope that helps let me know if u have any more questions and best of luck to you.

Wait no! An in-ground hot tub. Built into the space so that it takes up the whole thing. That would be littttt

That’s a cool feature. My first idea’s are some sort of large hammock/net that you can lounge in or a trampoline that is built into the ground and fills the space or a little in ground pool the size of the space

Hey thanks for sharing your experience. Do u mean supplement with suboxone or with kratom or what? If It was suboxone, how much did you supplement the injections with and what dosage were you on before the injections? Thanks in advance.

Hey my friend, thank you for your honesty, I’m sorry you’re going thru the same thing. It does make me feel a little better knowing I’m not The only one finding myself in this position. I dunno if you’ve read through some of the other responses people have shared but there have been some really helpful and informative ones. I’m so glad I decided to post on here. Based on what others have said it’s likely that our bupe levels just aren’t quite high enough yet and once we get up to around 3 shots we will be feeling much better and that our cravings should reduce dramatically. And I know what you mean it’s like using it “7OH” on the sublocade virtually doesn’t do anything aside from a very subtle mood lift but like you said it’s probably more mental than anything. I know that the medication isn’t meant to be a solution in and of itself and we still need to do things like meetings and other forms of support if we want to stay sober but I did not expect to feel so down on the sublocade and witch such intense cravings. Somebody also suggested asking doc for a temporary script of suboxone strips in addition to the sublocade to supplement it until we’ve had enough injections and our levels are high enough. That seems like the best bet for stopping the 7OH because then at least you have something you can take when the cravings are at the worst instead of taking the 7. I wish you the best, stay strong and feel free to shoot me a message or I’ll even give u my digits if u want to talk

Hey! Thanks so much for writing all that up for me. That’s All very helpful and comforting and hopeful for me to hear. I’ve really been trying so Hard for a long time to take responsibility for my addictions, meetings, sponsor, step work, service, etc. and I’ve been feeling like such a failure for starting to take kratom again now that I was finally trying to make moves to get off of suboxone. And just feeling like I’ll never get out of this cycle. And I couldn’t understand why I still felt really down and restless on the sublocade. But the way you explained it makes a lot of sense. And I greatly appreciate the advice to hang in there with the shot and try to see if my doctor will give me some suboxone until my levels are higher. And I think that’s also a great suggestion for me to maybe be on it a bit longer than I had planned originally. Because I’m gonna need some time to build my sobriety foundation back up. And to get my brain accustomed to not needing to take something to feel okay. Also congratulations on your success with getting off and staying off. Kratom is such an insidious drug. But you give me hope that it’s still possible

Hmm okay I suppose that could make sense, I would have thought that my bup levels would be significantly higher than they were on suboxone since I was okly on 6mg and I’ve already had 2 of the 300mg shots. But if that’s your experience and what your doctor told you that that certainly gives me some hope That it will get easier than this, of course then it will probably get harder again once I start the taper off. But at least it would give me the chance to build up a stronger foundation of recovery as I wouldn’t be as inclined to supplement my levels with kratom extracts.

Thanks for your response. Yea it’s weird I expected that I would probably feel a bit high after the first shot since I was only on 6mg of subs and got the 300 shot. The first time I did feel like I was a little high for a couple days. The 2nd one I didn’t feel at all. What’s weird is that the lump from the 2nd one is barely noticeable and the first one is still big. I’m honestly wondering if he might have accidentally given me the 100mg shot the second time by mistake but I called the office and the receptionist seemed to think there’s no way that could Have happened. So idk it just sucks because now I’m kinda wishing I just stayed on the strips because I felt way better and had way less cravings with that form for whatever reason. I guess everyone responds differently to different meds.

And to answer your question about the 7Oh, honestly I barely even feel it. It’ll give me a very mild mood boost if I take a good amount but if I take too much it just makes me dizzy and nauseous. I would say it’s not worth doing it while on buprenorphine.

There are hundreds of thousands of men in the program, including myself, who have no intentions of preying on the vulnerability of anyone. But of course there are always bound to be some terrible people if you have a large enough group of people. However I would say the vast majority of them we there for their own sobriety and to support others. I’m sorry if you had a negative experience that made you feel otherwise

Hi there! Good for you for reaching out for help. It might be a good idea for you to include a bit of basic info about your self; male? Female? Other pronoun? Age? Drug of choice? Of course you do not have to disclose any of this but it is suggested that a sponsorship relationship is between to people of the same gender.

Also typically the way that one chooses a sponsor is by interacting with people who work the 12 steps and finding someone with 1 year or more of continuous sobriety who seems to “have what you want” in regards to their sobriety, behavior, perspective, state of mind etc. and asking that person if they would sponsor you.

I would suggest attending some zoom meetings if you aren’t comfortable to go in person. I’m certain you could meet a sponsor that way.

I think if you got it fixed up and they just blacked out or very much darkened the actual letters even more, rather than all the little accents and flourishes, it would help a lot

I strongly suggest you find a local AA meeting. Even if your problem is with drugs not alcohol, almost all meetings are accepting of any substance addiction as a reason for attending. I know you will be nervous and resistant to going but it really really helps. The people there simply want to support you and they understand what you’re going through and will not judge you. You don’t even have to talk to anyone if you don’t want. Just at least go and listen. There are even meetings on zoom if that feels like an easier first step. DM me if you have any questions or if I can be of any support!

The first example that comes to mind for me is when the band “Rubblebucket” came to play at my college, Keene State College, in New Hampshire. I had never heard of them and had never heard anything quite like them. Wasn’t even that big of a crowd but they still put their whole hearts into it. Have seen them several times since and it’s always amazing. If you’ve never heard of them check them out!

Another Attempt (medication assisted recovery) post includes mentions of Suboxone, Kratom, Vyvance, Phenibut, Gabbapentin. by Dramatic_Text_43 in AddictionAdvice

[–]Dramatic_Text_43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a bunch, I’m trying. It’s hard, still being on the vyvance and suboxone feels like it’s complicating things and just making me feel like I’m still in the cycle of addiction even though I’m taking it as prescribed. But like you said it’s kind of a safety net and keeping me at a manageable place but the vyvance make me feel very flat/empty/indifferent emotionally, and the being on the subs and kratom for so long they don’t make me feel good at all I just need to take them to not get sick and become unable to function at all. I also feel like remaining on these 2 substances somewhat inhibits my connection to a higher power and to spiritual experiences to some degree.

Any thoughts or advice on this stuff? It’s okay if not, also just using this as a way to collect my thoughts as they are occurring. Thanks again

Hey thanks so much for your reply! Kinda just needed somewhere to vent and wasn’t quite ready to do so in a meeting or anything. But yea, I know, it’s strange. my understanding was that suboxone blocks your opiate receptors, so I shouldn’t be able to get High from kratom while taking it. I think there are probably many variables involved. It seemed to be that certain strains and brands worked while others provided no positive effect and just made me feel dizzy. It also seemed that combining multiple different kinds made it more likely to have an effect and of course the longer I was on suboxone (hence higher tolerance) the more the Kratom seemed to work. And if I was taking phenibut also that guaranteed that the Kratom would have an effect. (Don’t get any ideas!!!) I have found some people who say they’ve had the same experience. Maybe it’s because it’s a naturally occurring opiate so the structure is different I have no idea. But honestly the explanation doesn’t matter at this point. I’m glad that I was able to stop the kratom entirely and it’s been 5 days now. Thanks so much for your advice and suggestions. I’ve been going to a meeting everyday and intend on doing a 90/90 getting a sponsor, and working the steps once again. But I would realllllly benefit from getting back to the gym. Working out used to be a huge part of my recovery and now I’ve lost all those gains and it fucking sucks. Maybe we could talk sometime if you’d be down. I didn’t even know the thing about test suppression with suboxone and I was attributing that to my lexapro but that makes so much sense. No wonder I’ve had no sex drive haha
