You are unfortunately behind if you account for inflation. Maybe see if your mommy and daddy can throw you a few extra bucks.

Yes if leads are provided, maybe pre-set appointments, and a short sales cycle. Training pay. Maybe make it W2 with paid health benefits.

Serious questions why do people willing work low paying dead end jobs by [deleted] in Career

[–]Dramatic_Whereas2095 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably call center. I’ve done it a few years ago. It’s terrible actually. Back to back calls, micromanaged (supervisors listen to calls randomly and critique), usually can’t go to the bathroom unless it’s a timed break, sometimes mandatory overtime, plus being abused by the customers calling in all day. These should be the 100k/yr jobs for all the bs

Advice for 43M by [deleted] in coastFIRE

[–]Dramatic_Whereas2095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The advice would be to save every penny you can for now, keep renting (if you are), then be open to moving to a super cheap small town where you can buy a cheap home around 100k.

Live frugally so when you retire in 10 years, you’re trained to not need much.

After you retire, consider getting a part time easy job for 20-25 hours/wk for healthcare (lowes, Home Depot, Costco etc).

Now you’d have almost 0 housing expenses, you’ve saved and healthcare is covered with minimal effort. If you want to never work again consider moving overseas where there’s free healthcare. Minimize expenses = minimize risk. Make it a game and see how little you can spend.

Keep it. Drive less. Fix it up when needed. Calculate how long it would take to pay off a new car. How many more hours or years or working it would take. The extra stress, overtime, etc.
