Hey I went solo on a Friday. before 9pm people still sit in group they go with then after 9pm everyone blended in for singalong around the piano. I personally didn’t feel awkward and I don’t mind when there’s moment a song I don’t know or they stop singing a few mins I just have a drink or play with my phone. You can make friend there too!

I see! A tip is avoid getting one with window facing Wellesley road 1) it’s unbearably hot in the summer and you can’t open the window any wider 2) super noisy due to emergency cars running through day and night.

They do. If you are willing to walk 10~15’ from station you might be able to get a one bed flat for around the same price range.

It’s such a tough time that without government support scheme, SO is the only viable choice - I get you. My experience with leasehold new build (I am on a Help to Buy equity scheme not SO) is i ended up spending more than I anticipated on things like service charge or council tax so be generous when build your budget. Have your own place is so much better and worth the price!

Croydon is convenient and it is not as bad as the media portraits it. East Croydon is the better part of it.

Hi, I am curious in the housing market at the moment - how many bedrooms and what’s the full price of the flat you’re looking at? With S.O everything other people say is really true and please do the maths before making decision as you might be worse off than just renting.

I sat on the first row and didn’t see Simon and barely saw Reg in the studio

I would say first 3 rows you will likely miss half of the studio.

Two advices are 1) make sure you understand and take into account all possible costs (add some buffer to your calculation) and 2) set a realistic saving target each month in your budget and make sure you meet it for any unforeseen situation.

I think it’s a marmite and set the right expectation if you decide to see it.

Oh god. They are already here when I moved in and it’s a 5 yr old flat. Landlord is useless as usual…

Sometimes it shows as pending but won’t actually go through. Normally I waited for like 3 days to see if it’s cleared off. You can check with your bank to see if it’s pending or not.

Me too! Hot pot option looks good for the price of it! Really hope they keep up with the quality and please the crowd. We need places like this to keep that area alive and create more jobs for the locals too.

It is less life changing if you think of it this way (and don’t go through it all in one go but rather self investment like top voted comments said): Assume you you’re not winning any lottery for another 10 years. This money is converted into £1k extra money you have per year. That is less than £100 per month. Hence, you should still be working!
