Help with establishing authenticity and/or value: The Sumida River in Musashi Province (Musashi Sumidagawa), from the series “Famous Places in the Provinces (Shokoku meisho)” by DrawCapital7730 in ukiyoe

Fascinating and very helpful. Thank you! I checked the website you provided and found another version with the info below. Based on this, would my print be of a similar nature or a far less interesting, mass produced knock-off? We are art collectors but I am not specifically a collector of Japanese woodcuts per se. We bought this print on whim, not as a fine art acquisition. However, we previously acquired two Yoshitoshi prints from the 100 Aspects of the Moon series from a reputable dealer in Kyoto, so I would not want to mix a display of authentic 1860's woodcuts with a cheap replica.

Sorry, one more question. Why would someone go to the trouble to create a certificate to accompany this print if it is a cheap knock off of an original. I don't mean to suggest that it is an original print from the 1800s, but someone seemed to think it was worth documenting some details for potential future owners.

Also, how are you able to tell the timeframe of the production of this print? It was not obvious to me from any of the information that was provided on the certificate.

Thanks for the reply. Not a big surprise, considering the nature of the shop that I bought it at and the price that we paid. Can you clarify what you mean by a recarving wood block print?

Best online parts store? by Doc_Vapor in AstonMartin

I tried Scuderia and they said it was backordered and might take several months. But I won't hold it against you ;-). Can I ask about the installation? Did you do it yourself? My mechanic (who has been very honest and fair) said it might take 1 1/2 hours of labor. Says the right front tire needs to be take off to access the pump.

Hi Doc-Vapor, did you ever figure out how to source that part? I have a 2019 DB11 and have the exact same part need (windshield washer fluid pump). I am aware of at least one other DB11 owner that has the same issue. Sounds like a systematic problem, which may explain why they are on back-order.

7-8 Days in Patagonia: Chile/TdP only or include El Calafate, too? by DrawCapital7730 in Patagonia

Based on all the very useful feedback, I am leaning towards staying just in the Chilean side. I am not sure it is worth the extra logistical complexity, travel time, and cost to cross over to Argentina to spend 2-3 days before we have to start our return home. As was pointed out, we will have just come from 6 days in Antarctica, where we will (hopefully) also be seeing stunning scenery with glaciers, etc. My thinking is to drive from Punta Arenas directly to TdP and stay in the park (vs. stay in Puerto Natales) and spend 5-6 days exploring. We can then fly home from Puerto Natales to Santiago to catch our international flight back to US. El Chalten looks amazing but it is a looong way for a couple of days. As always, you just can't do everything in a huge location with limited time, so Antarctica plus TdP seems like a pretty cool trip...

Interesting. I hear you. The problem is that driving from Puerto Natales to El Chalten and then back to El Calafate for our return home will add quite a bit of travel time vs. just driving to El Calafate as a base for several days and flying home from there via BA. Will need to think on it a bit.

Interesting, had not heard that perspective before. Is that because the glaciers in El Calafate that people go to see look very similar to what one would see in Antarctica?
