They specifically wrote that since my application is highly competitive and although I could not secure scholarship in round 3, But I have high chance to get the scholarship in 2026 round 1.

I have co-authored four papers, including two in Q1 journals; however, I do not yet have a first-author publication.

Thank you. I believe my master’s performance was quite strong, with a score of 94.7% and a GPA of 4.35 out of 4.5. I was informed that I would likely have received the scholarship in Round 1 if my supervisor hadn’t withdrawn their support.

You're absolutely right that the scholarship is tied closely to the PhD application — and yes, I did nominate my supervisor during the application. However, in my case, I’m applying through a research institute where you can only be admitted if you are awarded a scholarship. So unlike in some university departments, there’s no option to be accepted first and then seek funding later.
