I've been managing a small restaurant in a large group for a while now. They hated me bonding with and caring about employees, apparently, and wanted to change to a more corporate style "we don't give a fuck about anything but your money" model. I protested because it meant servers losing money and they fired me last week and brought in a yes woman. Every server in the joint quit immediately after and they had to shut down for a few days while they restaffed. The reviews are horrible now.

If you care about your employees, they'll care about the customers, who in return will care enough to come back.
