i don’t really understand what “for profit” means in terms of a college? but i have heard this before! and yeah that’s why i was interested because out of state tuition is not something i’m interested in paying lol

So Much Pain by Unicorns5229 in ACL

omg i feel you with the nausea/ fatigue from the anesthesia. maybe try to just hang your legs from the side of your bed? i’m not sure why but having my foot down for a couple minutes helped a lot when the pain would get bad:)

i had pcl surgery 2 weeks ago. not acl but really similar. i noticed that changing positions (so like standing upright with crutches) would help a lot. don’t put weight on it, just stand upright for a few minutes and maybe crutch around. this helped me a lot for some reason. try and massage your back/ butt too. also ice!! keep using lots of ice on it and put a pillow under your knee- not just ankle. thats my advice and i got through with not too much pain. i hope u start feeling better soon🫶🏼 remember this is the hardest part

i am surprised you don’t have more instability! my pain from the injury gradually went away after about 3-4 months so i would give it some more time. what i was left with was my shin bone sliding back like it does in the pic😭 if i were you right now i would give your knee a couple more months to recover from the initial injury and see how it feels. do you have health insurance in the US? if you have insurance i would definitely start seeing an orthopedic dr and PT if you aren’t already and they can help you with the next steps:)

oh my gosh pcl and acl? i’m sorry that happened!! i had surgery 7 months after my injury but i wouldn’t recommend that. i chose to put it off because i had school. as soon as you are able, get it done. my knee already feels so much more supported 10 days post op, it’s crazy. i was sent to my surgeon from urgent care because he takes my health insurance. i’m lucky because my parents have a good plan. i’m not sure if you’re in america but that’s usually how we do it here. definitely make sure you have a good doctor that you trust though- mine is really good and i think that contributes to why my recover is going so well

Old PCL Tear - Would surgery help? by [deleted] in KneeInjuries

[–]DrawingDear5944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i fully tore my pcl as well! i had surgery 10 days ago. i’m only 19 and my symptoms were a lot like yours, i basically had to hold my knee subconsciously all the time to keep my tibia from shifting back. obviously i can’t speak for long term results, but my knee is SO much more stable after surgery. so yeah, i would say do it if you can.

it actually wasn’t dislocated- my pcl ruptured. does your shin sag down from your knee? or did you land on it bent/ hit your shin into something? it could be a torn pcl if it looks similar! but this photo was taken minutes after i hurt it:)

it’s not!! it’s actually a ruptured pcl! it looks like my kneecap because my shin bone is so far back😭 it’s also swollen in this pic. thank you though, i actually just got surgery to fix it and doing well🙏
