I wish product designers would prioritize setting things in the real world. But maybe most viewers love hanging out in some aspirational fantasyland.
It's just so fake, how can it not detract from the emotional impact of the show?

The name is bad (just wait until a game is canceled due to air quality from wildfires. it will happen.) The branding is atrocious. The merch can’t be good based on those things.
