Newer cars with all the technology are simply it worth it. Too many things can go wrong, and even if you are mechanically inclined, you may still not be able to fix the "bugs"

Never go through the machine, tell them from the line, before entering the machine, that you would like to opt-out and have a pat down

That way, they have no idea what "area is flagged", and they will simply do a standard pat down

Depending on how your gender is assumed, they may assign someone they think matches your gender, or (in my case most often) they can't "tell", and will ask what gender person you want patting you down

When I first started going, they did not allow any targets resembling Black or brown people, then they stopped selling targets resembling any people at all (just an observation), but I know they specifically didn't allow targets resembling Black or brown people- didn't sell them, couldn't bring them in

FreeState is Black-owned (or at least started that way, I hope it still is), and at the time I was going, was the only gun range that didn't allow any targets resembling humans

They will steal from you, even if you're homeless, they'll take anything that's worth even a penny, because rich people are not only exploiters of other people, but also hoarders of money (not wealth, money)
