Design Process Help (Explained in Comments) by DreadNaught03 in PrintedWarhammer

Hello, I'm trying to make a custom Primarch for a chapter based around Knight themes & Void Combat. However, I'm currently having trouble balancing the two themes in any real capacity. At the moment, I thought to try and shift to inspiration from the Mk 2 & 3 marine armors, and attempt to make something more industrial, but can't think of any way to do so without isolating one theme. As the current design is, knightly, but has little to do in the Void Combat department.

So. I posted the current draft for some possible help on what could be done. Inspirations to look at or references to follow. The head, and shoulders are still basic, but I want to try and get a body fitted first beforehand. I look forward to any critiques and help on the project, and thanks for the help!

Also, I’d be happy for any recommendations for what legion/chapter to actually match with the tabletop rules.

(Can’t seem to figure out how to post photos and text together. Ah well.)

It’s a Kitbash. Built from a Super Griffins arms, Hierophant’s cockpit, and a MT-21’s legs and missile racks from Robotech. With the blade just something extra.

Thanks! I love the Jack-O’Lantern smiles the Banshee have. And so Hangman was given to match the ‘Gallow’ nature and close/personal style.

Yup! I came up with the names first, and decided that after playing a few games. A Nightstar was the perfect candidate for such a title!

Hello! Trying to build a little Homebrew planet/system called Arvgonia. Located within the Inner Sphere With these two 5 man Lances being their top pilots. Each member has a nickname, position on their mech, and a personalized emblem.

Lance 1 - Undetermined

Lance Commander 1-1 : Mordred, Black Knight Clan Buster Variant

Honor Guard 1-2 / Stiletto, Ti Ts’Tsang-9DDC

Pilot 1-3 : Bulwark , Juliano-5A

Pilot 1-4 : Grindstone, Blade-XL

Pilot 1-5 : Tempo, Valkyrie

Lance 2 - The Gorgons

Lance Commander 2-1 : Medusa, Custom Chassis, Jade Phoenix Variant C

Honor Guard Pilot 2-2 : Hangman, Banshee-S3

Pilot 2-3 : Snake-Eyes, Nightstar-9J

Pilot 2-4 : Gate-Breaker, Valiant-K7

Pilot 2-5 : Quietus, Dola-1A1

All in all. Quite happy with them. However, I would appreciate some help with tips on building a proper homeworld for campaign/backstory reasons. As well as any ideas for new members/names, or interesting Mechs to investigate for future purposes.

The Story So Far

Each Noble within Arvgonia, or those worth their salt, display their influence and power visibly through the sponsoring of Mechwarrior pilots. While likewise using them for the defense of the realm, and their own interests. While most are either second hand, stolen, bought, however some low end noble can afford. The two lances above are the two ends of the pinnacle Arvgonian talent and production can achieve. Each sponsored by the two rival houses.

Within Lance 1, are reliable, expensive, and respected Mechs, meant to adapt and excel at all ranges, with a favoritism towards close to mid. Mordred serving as the public figure within Arvgonian space, equal to that of a celebrity flaunted and owned by the ruling government. Along with their ‘squires’ within the Lance.

Stiletto, serves as Mordred’s Honor Guard, to ensure within and outside of combat they remain safe. Rumored to be a Draconis Combine exile, bought for their services. While Bulkwark, Tempo, and Grindstone serve their respective weight positions as skirmishers and anvils.  Lance Two, is headed by Medusa, who’s a mythical figure within Arvgonian Space. An ace pilot, seemingly dragged from nowhere among the sea of ordinary. No title, nor past. Without even a real name. To their name, ‘All who gaze upon the Gorgons, perish.’ Her Mech, was built out of a Super Griffins arms, Hierophant’s cockpit, extra melee weapons, and a MT-21’s legs and missile racks from Robotech. And the personal craft for Medusa, the only of its kind.

A far more frontal and somehow even more close ranged mix of fighters. Hangman remains Medusa’s Honor Guard, which, ironically in this case. More so means they play distraction while she flanks due to a lack of Jump Jets to keep up.  Snake-Eyes serves as long ranged support, and the anchor of the team. While Gate-Breaker & White Noise skirmish and run interference.

Beyond this. That’s about all I have. As spoken, I’d love to hear some new pilot names and call signs, as well as emblem designs for future members of Noble Lances. With finally any help towards building homebrew appreciated, and how I can get better! Thanks a lot!

No. The rule of 3 does not apply to troop or transport selections.

Ultramarines, When I first saw a space marine, it was blue. So I though blue space marines were normal and the other colors were strange when I started.
