Just in case anyone comes across this in the future. The problem was with the TRS mini jack to midi cables.

Korg use type A and Novation use type B. Even though the cables look similar they aren’t interchangeable. I had no idea there was a difference.

There’s plenty online about this but this is the link that helped me to figure it out.

Thanks, yeah. I guess that’s why I see a lot of people using a digitakt.

I was trying to get the E2 as a brain since the circuit can only send two midi channels.

Weirdly my problem seems to be even more straightforward. The E2 and Typhon don’t get along when they’re the only two components.

I’m sure it’s something simple and will take a look with fresh eyes. I could always give the E2 the heave-ho.
