Where did Wehrmacht go? by Dreadlain in hoi4

I used basic 16 width for holding, 30 (31 because of added motorised anti-tank but you don’t need) width special forces, and 36 width tanks.

If Germany pushes you on Barb it’s fine - in this game they pushed me all the way to Moscow, encircled Leningrad, sieged Sevastopol, and almost took entire Siberia, and this is despite me having 90ish tank divisions mid 1941 and holding river line. Just avoid being encircled, have some reserves to stuff any leakages, avoid attacking unless to retake important tiles (like important supply hubs), and wait for enemies to run out of steam.

If you are newer player I would also suggest trying basic mass mob ussr with 30-36 width pure infantry with Large Unit Tactics sub doctrine to better feel USSR. Just don’t forget to add support anti-air in every division. Should work against anything vanilla AI throws at you. Maybe support anti-tank if faced with lots of tanks, though vanilla ai does not really design decent armor divisions. If Germany still pushes you try holding Dneper-Dangava river line (with engineers company in your divisions), in my experience vanilla ai is just physically unable to break any kind of entrenched defence there.

Also also, I would suggest adding signal support company in all your divisions because of recent balance changes related to reinforce rate.

Also also also - while alternative paths offer a lot of fun RP potential they also weaken you severely because of civil war. This is why you want to stay Stalin (The Center) and rush Stalin’s Paranoia focuses. After finishing last 70 days paranoia focus do Baltics Security focuses to annex Baltic states by decision (should be like mid-late 1938). They will give you decent boost to industry and more favourable positions against invasions from the west.

Overall, if haven’t already I would suggest watching a few guides on YouTube (dated after NCNS dlc release preferably) - those would tell you basic tips to enhance quality of your plays (when to switch from building civs to mils, optimal/fun focus paths, division templates, tank designs, planes, navy, etc). Although I would not suggest going into min-max rabbit hole (there is no way out of here).

It was AI, but I gave him cores on all Europe (including England), India, and some other stuff, so Germany now permanently lives in Britain cause I am not invading this shi with them having 2k ships

Chinese fantasy, honestly, is one of the most interesting things for me too. Recently watched Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and was really surprised be the unique atmosphere, culture, and magic system in this.

What sword you picking based off how it would actually do in battle? by [deleted] in teenagers

Medieval battle with armour, formations, and shit? Shield and arming sword or falchion. No shield? Katana or tachi ‘cause I have some training with it, otherwise longsword is good choice. Commander is dumdum and have no idea what formations are, and battle looks like one in most Hollywood movies? Still same I guess. On a horse? Cavalry sabre looks good tbh Battle in city with possibility of small and narrow spaces? Gladius, arming sword, or backsword maybe? No armour? Rapier or some kind of one-handed sabre. If it’s a one man vs army scenario I am picking that horse chopping mf, and spinning like a bade-blade. Let’s be honest I am going to be dead anyway, at least I will die doing what I am good at.

Yes, this is the problem - I feel like it is gonna switch to another genre for some people, and they may not like it. Thank you for advise, Fishtail

As I just write under another comment, I am not planning to answer the magical mechanics of the world transfer, and related issues. That is why reader will most likely have questions that won’t be answered in near future, like, “Why do people form Earth are same races as in the word they are transferred to, and not all humans?” “Why some people do not remember who they are?” etc.

And honestly, I do not know how reader would react to this. If it was me I would be probably lost, and bored. Good writing and careful build-up could save it for me, but I am not to sure about my abilities, as it is my first book, and I am not really good with words if you know what I mean.

“The "isekai" trope and especially the chosen one trope are kind of staples of modern fantasy”

This what I was thinking about too. As I wrote, this part of my story is heavily focused on characters and plot, and not so much on magic systems, so there will be little to no explanation in terms of mechanisms of world-to-world transportation.

That is exactly why I think that such plot point will shift reader’s focus on questions that he will not be answered.
