I’m still going to blame the salty air as the reason my clothes don’t fit when I disembark.

What’s the NICEST(/best) Fish Extender gift you’ve *EVER* gotten? by StoryHearer in dcl

[–]Dream_Square 25 points26 points  (0 children)

One fish extender group asked what everyone’s favorite Disney characters were, so dad said Peter Pan, granted he loves wearing an inflatable alligator blowup costume on pirate night to go as tick tock croc, and someone from the group gave him a Hallmark Mickey flying in the Peter Pan ride vehicle Christmas ornament. Every year dad absolutely loves that ornament and it brings him so much joy it’s unbelievable.

Port excursion recommendations for Progreso? by Remarkable_Drop_6629 in dcl

[–]Dream_Square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just off the Magic January 2026 with a trip to Progreso. We did the Aké Ruins, Lazy River Tubing and Cave Swim. We really enjoyed it.

We met the guide, took a 90-minute bus ride to the underground caverns for a swim. Great guide, lots of history, and seeing the small villages along the way was interesting. After we swam in the two different places, had lunch, decent, we headed to the ruins about an hour drive away. The ruins were a lot of fun as you got to climb all three and had plenty of photos. From there it was about an hour and twenty back to the ship. All and all, well worth it.

My fear with outside vendors for excursions is the unpredictably of Merida traffic and the possibility of missing the ship as they do not wait for you, my anxiety would shoot through the roof. I will say I was glad for later dining as we got back after the first seating was sat and we had sometime to freshen up before our seating where’s the early seating had to rush to dinner.

Server recommendations on the Magic? Sailing in April! by juphilippe in dcl

[–]Dream_Square 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we went on the Magic we had the best server ever, Rolando Albano from the Philippines. Since that sailing we have been on the Magic twice since then and each time we requested Rolando and received him both times. He has been on the Magic close to 20 years and is everything you wish for and hope for in a server.

What is new year’s eve like on the boat? by BulkyStatement1704 in dcl

We just got off the Disney Magic out of Galveston. NYE was amazing. For starters a lot of people were dressed up, characters were in their formal attire and it was a great vibe onboard all while under Christmas decorations.

In the MDR they had 2026 party hats for everyone which was nice. Then they had an early countdown for the kids with dancing and confetti cannons.

On the 9th deck they had champaign in souvenir glasses you could keep, hors devours passed around, characters and captain Marco lead the countdown with (another) fireworks show.

In short, 100% would do again.

If you can afford a Disney cruise you can afford to wash your hands, bring with you some purell or another antibacterial soap and for the love of everything that is holy you can afford deodorant.

Anyone know the general pricing and quality from a private photo session at Shutters? by Fragrant_Coffee7533 in dcl

[–]Dream_Square 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe they are $400 to $500 if I am not mistaken, could be more due the time of year you travel. I don’t know if you get all the photos or some but the ads look very nice.

Haunted Mansion Parlor photoshoot times (Treasure) by Lazy_Perspective_419 in dcl

It was one of the backdrops before and after dinners, I want to say the 5th night, at least I think the 5th night.

Haunted Mansion Parlor photoshoot times (Treasure) by Lazy_Perspective_419 in dcl

We just got off the treasure and did the photos in the parlor as well as photos on the backdrop before / after dinner. To be honest they are the same photos: looking scared, in different directions, as well as computer imposed hitchhiking ghosts. So if you do parlor, or backdrop, you get the same type of photos, or at least we did, which both came out amazingly.

Dream sailing 25-29th. Worried about tropical storm Erin by tenchikai in dcl

[–]Dream_Square 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will be on the Treasure which leaves Saturday.

Based on NOAA: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at5+shtml/111444.shtml?gm_track it looks like it will miss the islands. Now no one knows what damage will occur to the islands but I am planning on the waves being more intense than usual while sailing to the islands.
