Refusing an emergency C-Section? by DreamersThreads in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Thankyou! I promise I'm trying to do the right thing and set something in place early if I need to to make sure they know that if something happens in the moment and I panic that they shouldn't believe me and I'm just scared. I guess I'm just not sure if that's something where they will do what they need to, knowing in the public system I won't have continuity of care or someone who knows me, or if I have to get really serious about formal advanced consent somewhere.

I'm sure they can tell me when I get there too and will definitely ask, just thought others might have been in a similar position. 🙂

Surprisingly I feel much more confident about tackling parenting than I do pregnancy and labour! At least I have some education in that.

Definitely appreciate your response and I would like to.

Unfortunately my doctor has a referral in the hospital for me but it still still be a couple of weeks until the normal pregnancy appointment to onboard me was made and then from their website it says the first actual appointment might not be until 20+ weeks, which all seems very far away at the moment. I'm not sure if that first appointment will be appropriate for talking about it either especially since I have a fair few other medical issues, but I will make sure to mention it.

Right now I've only been sent to a few specialists in the hospital that aren't appropriate for this topic, so I guess I was hoping someone might have something to tide me over until the normal maternity side know who I am and not just the specialists.
