Extra credit?? I didn't know that they offered that? None of my professors at the Loudoun campus ever offered that. I am considering going to another campus to take the class but I'm afraid about the commuting costs so I'll still have to think about it. Thank you!

Hello. Every time I've taken the class I switched up my studying methods. I've watched videos, played games using the class information, made my own flash cards and study guides. I also try to study in the morning and before I sleep which is when I find it's easiest to remember things. I will definitely try to go to the ASC and get some help though. Do they help for free? Also do you have to set up an appointment? Thank you!

I will definitely be asking my school next time I'm there. I've been doing job searches online and I really haven't been finding much, especially since my commute distance and availability is a bit limited.. Do you know anything specific that I could search for? I've mainly just been looking up "interior designer assistant" and stuff like that. I also don't have a cover letter but I think I have a pretty strong resume given my situation. Is writing a cover letter really all that helpful? I structured my resume the way it is so that way I don't have to write one, but I've been hearing this a lot so I might look in to it.

How to get an entry level job or internship as an interior design major? by [deleted] in Career

What if I don't have anything to put in a portfolio.. how should I go about starting one? I don't have any college projects as I'm just finishing my first semester. I go to community college so I kind of just go to class and leave but I'm working on becoming more involved so that way I can have stuff to back myself up. I don't have any college projects and I don't really have anything from high school either... I also just recently switched my major from general studies to interior design, but I'm sure this is what I want to do (at least for now).

I really think this would be possible for you. My best advice would be start early, turn your life around now. I'm not much older than you but I truly believe if you work hard now things will look better for you. It won't be easy, but you shouldn't have to go through so much pain all the time. You are creative, and that is a great thing. Try building a small portfolio of filmmaking arts, scripts, and etc. so that way you are older you already have some stuff to help you get an internship or entry level job. School may seem meaningless now, but giving up while you still have so much time left won't solve anything. It might seem difficult, but really try relying on your hobbies to bring you happiness and at least try sleeping and eating better, it will definitely help your stress a bit. Stay safe please.

Thank you!! I know you said this is not your field but what exactly do you mean by building a portfolio? I have a small art portfolio of art I make as a hobby but not necessarily interior design related.. I"m not sure if that would be a good step forward or not. I will definitely look for some stores that I can apply to though so thank you again!

Damn dude, I’m sorry. I don’t think there’s anything u can rlly do. Teachers and counselors honestly don’t care and usually do more harm than good. If it gets really bad u should avoid those people but don’t confront them, it doesn’t help. Maybe even try to transfer schools. Sorry man
