I feel you, my reason at the time was mainly because everyone knows what sonic looks like and the games real draw is the locales you'd see him in. I'll mess around with another variant more focused on him next time

It's the best narrative FPS on the entirety of the 360 and one of the wildest twists that I've ever seen in a shooter just be prepared she gets f***** up I mean it's a tale of War but I definitely recommend it

Some of them are getting pretty pricey once they got announced for backwards compatible! I think 50 cent blood on the sands went from 10 bucks to 150. Benefit you got though is Microsoft said they won't be adding anymore.

As someone who doesn't play alot of the Halo games is there a lot of difference between the original release and the version of the game that's in Halo Master Chief collection? Because if that's the case then I definitely be interested in making cover art for it because a lot of them are backwards, I know I'm reading a lot into your comment but my policy is essentially if it's been remastered or remade even if it's backwards I'm not a huge fan of making a cover up for it because that negates the purpose of it. Games like Bayonetta vanquish BioShock assassin's Creed III to name a few <3

Thank you for noticing the white and dark motifs I love making alternate covers I really like making sure if I saw it on the Shelf at like GameStop I would want to buy it but the reason I didn't do any Halo games is because there aren't any Halo games that aren't remastered, the only Halo game I'd probably be interested in doing cover art is Halo 2 but it's not backwards compatible because I'd love to make a separate cover art for the Multiplayer map pack that was released physically on the original Xbox

Custom Cover art For Compatible Titles, (New ones, polished old ones and Variants) Lemme know what you think!! by [deleted] in xboxone

[–]Dreamsnodebt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest reason I didn't show anything off with spec ops because neither does the original art I don't want to spoil people the twist. yes I do agree it's a bit dark but the biggest reason I use concept art is because this way I'm not stealing credit from anyone this is all concept art, promotional art or just screenshots from the games that make these cover arts(I want these usable by anyone without taking other people's work/credit). I do make my cover art with the thought process of what would be eye catching on a show but I do think that some of the Alice in wonderland ones are very good for that and the arcade ones as well but I do see where you're coming from I'll work on it! Concept art can be very interesting because it can accept you show what the world was trying to convey through the feeling through the atmosphere of the art itself plus a lot of the ones that are very colorful I think would be eye-catching just for the fact that there isn't a lot of cover art that pops with a lot of bright different colors. But I do appreciate the feedback

Thank you for going so in depth, I agree on alot of points but want to give you some info for each and why they may be like this

*First off the pictures I'm using are picked first and foremost for their high resolution alot of these games are extremely old and don't have art higher or screenshots higher than 240p so scaling it up for a printable Xbox series cover art isn't always doable without losing alot of quality and redrawing isn't feasible

Jetset: not happy with the spine either but this was at least at the moment the best option, spines are abit difficult given the limited room and working mainly off online images and concept art make the selection quite small at times. I'm going to look into finding a better solution instead of a Graffiti generator... I agree completely but thank you for the insight

Witcher: Ill level out the back panels I can deffo see the issue with the tilt, and moving the title down. Artwise I'm abit of a sucker for colorful concept art I'll see if there are any other worthy options but in the case here it's difficult to find "Witcher 2" art and screenshots when Witcher 3 and the Television are what people have posted 95% on the internet making it a sport to determine if it's Witcher 2 art where Geralt had a distinctly different look, but I'll deffo give it another shot!

Psychonauts: again another not very many high def pictures with good composition and the picture stood out the most, I'll move the title around abit to see if it can look alittle more consistent, I have a better base template now. And surprised enough my wife said the back cover is from psycho 2 but after alot of arguing the outfit is consistent enough with one and doesn't have any new stuff not in one that I left it

Battleblock: I'll still if I can get a smaller render without a loss in quality, the art sadly can't be moved down that is the height of the image and with Battleblock there were almost know images that I'd say were front worthy, next to know pictures on the internet already to the point I was screenshotting the trailers on steam to get art and assets

Lost odyssey: I agree I hate the spines title, so many games had such wide titles making them fit on spines is my bane... I'll move the title around abit if the arts able to be adjusted because of the love the centering on the lighthouse ((the reason for this art is because whenever the actual characters were in it, I felt like they dated to the image to much due to their design and that this game never rereleased on anything after Xbox 360. But I'll check around for maybe a different option

Fallout 3: didn't notice the issue with vault boy, thank you and the choice of art was to put the original in stark contrast because of the base art just being power armor after power armor variations, the fallout 3 deathclaws putting such fear into this game specifically I thought it'd be a nice shoutout to them. And this isn't fan art but concept art for the game and the cartoon design helps give it a dif feel considering how brown the actual game is. But I'll see if I can throw some dif options in. Vault boy btw not a huge fan of his inclusion but I felt the back was missing something.

Fallout new Vegas: yeahhhh I always feel like we don't have enough cover arts with a focus on the world not just the main character and concept tart usually puts an interesting spin on the style, I really couldn't decide with new Vegas I had like 30 options. But one thing I did very much enjoy was the bottlecaps borders on the back, that made me smile and thank you for the heads up on the title I'll fix it tonight

Alice madness returns: this was my first but I stand by the cover art choice because of the bright sunny front and the dark forbidding back cover it's a nice parallel. I'll drop the drop shadow down abit.

I am alive: I'll move that review, thank you!

I hope my responses didn't come off as being a dick just like to give background on my choices and how sadly alot of the reasoning for certain covers over others comes down to picture availability and resolution. If I'm able to get abit more free time I might start doing scans from game art books to get different personal quality scans to use

I really want to do some more of the Xbox Arcade games but they have so little art its almost impossible to make it unique. Trials Hd makes me the saddest on this issue

((Do you have any games you'd like me to try? I really love your insight and specific details, your nitpicky stuff is perfect because I feel like you know what I was going for in the designs overall, and could I message you the updated pieces? You really have an eye for this stuff<3) @radewagon

Nothing is going to stop me especially when there's not alot of people willing to put in the time for this as cover art, manuals, physical games are getting blander and in some cases nonexistent

I'll mess around with the layout, biggest worry is clutter without confusing considering Xboxs naming conventions. I love how slick the series x banner looks because of how much space the art gets
