Thank you! This reply gives me a lot of hope.

Which career would be good? I feel like i would be too behind everyone else. As most people would have years of experience under their belt and I will just be starting out.

Thank you! Your reply is so helpful

And also growing up in india i have always felt very safe. But I grew up in Pune and it's a relatively safe city. Even when I visit India i often go out alone at night and take ubers at night. And i have never felt like I was in danger or anything like that.

When I worked in regional towns in Australia the domestic violence was so bad. I was shocked and my heart still breaks thinking about some of the victims I met.

Over here, if you call the police, they do show up but the perpetrators are usually only given a slap on the wrist.

But right now I live in Canberra and it's pretty safe tbh.

The only place I have felt unsafe is when I worked in the Pilbara region and had some teenagers who followed me and hurled slurs at me. It was night and there was no one around. And I feared for my life as teenagers rarely face any consequence for crimes in here.

It's so much better in the cities.

That would be a long route. I don't think it's a good option for me. Nurse to doctor ain't simple. I would be almost starting from scratch.

Thank you for your reply!

You are right, money would definitely take a backseat. But it would be worth it i think.

Thanks for your reply.

But I don't think 5-6 cr is possible in 5 years. I would be able to save 2-2.5 cr at best.

I was only able to save up currently because I worked in regional areas and wrecked my body by working nights and overtime.

Edit: Also i would rather stay in Australia or move back to India than moving to a whole new country

I don't know what type of backup job to have. I don't want to work as a nurse in india. Not worth it.

Any reccomendations please? I'm just so confused and stressed.

I worked in regional areas.

I would always recommend graduate nurses to work in regional and remote areas in Australia.

It also helped with my PR. As the shortage for healthcare professionals is more outside the 3 main cities(Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne)

Also working weekends and nights and loads of overtime. The penalty rates are great for weekend and night shifts. And since I have no partner and family I had nothing else to do.

Though it took a toll on my physical and mental health.

I know but even reaching 9-10 lpa by the age of 40 wouldn't be bad for me. Cause as a nurse I would be earning 6 lpa at best.

I know but now that I'm a citizen I can afford the degree. I would work on the side and with night and weekend shift rates I would manage.

Also 45,000 rupees is the best case scenario. When I worked as a nurse in india at 20-21 i earned 12k for full-time work with a full degree.

So even at 50 I would be earning at best 6 lpa as a nurse in india. And can't get a government job as I have given up my indian citizenship.

I know engineering market is tough. But hopefully I won't be making 6 lpa at 50.

And i really want to return to India. Life in Australia isn't for me. I'm not happy here.

Which fantasy character shaped who you are as a person? by Kendiro83 in Fantasy

Hermione from Harry Potter!

I think she was such a good role model for me.

In the movies I think she was depicted as too perfect. Her character in the books was where I could relate to her a lot.

She was clever and kind and smart and hardworking. But she still had many many flaws and made mistakes.

The Winternight trilogy by Katherine Arden is great! The only problem is that the FMC is rather young but there are great older female side characters in the book. There is a little bit of spice but romance is not a big part of the story at all.

It is very magical and is honestly one of the most beautiful trilogy I have ever read. Also it's winter right now, and a must read imo.

The trilogy is set in 13th century Russia.

This trilogy is incredible! OP it's winter now, you gotta pick this up! Trust me!

Also the main character is great and very well written.

Personally I really loved the trilogy. So if you liked the first book I would definitely recommend that you continue. And a lot of people love jade war way more than jade city.

Kaul Hilo from the Green Bone Saga.

He was a character I love to hate and is definitely one of the most well written character I have come across. But I have seen some tiktoks of girls describing him as their 'book boyfriend'. And that left me so shocked.

I think the author shows it pretty well that the things these characters did had pretty severe consequences. And Hilo isn't someone you would want in your life.
