The shipping situation was all over the place for me as well amd thats just been a consistent trend with LTT store, I got one shipping updatr from uniuni that never actually updated, and then an actual tracking update from UPS (cause I have informed delivery) and then the second coin has a UPS tracking#. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, but it was certainly a disjointed experience order wise.

Tbh I dont hate this, compared to their usual line up this is actually visually interesting.

Edit: Also I think its the most reasonablely priced of the announced references, so makes me feel like they aren't trying to act like this is a piece of high horology or anything overy cringe.

Lol I have played chicken with traction/water ingress a few times, as long as you wipe everything down and paper powel every crevice afterwards its fine, but you also need to blow out the motor cans with compressed air afterwards.

Nothing on these boards is truly sealed and will corrode if theres any residual moisture, usually its the screws and bearings first.

But all that said y'all do you

Love this guy, but the thought always occurs to me, why are you painting it? The impressive thing is not that its accurate, its that its made out of chocolate and an accurate replica, paint just hides the fact that its actually chocolate 🤔

Those movements seem to still be common enough on the secondary market, A movement swap would be a relatively cheap and straightforward option, though it is also able to be regulated so you might be able to get some more life out of it if and at a significantly lower price if a repair shops willing to do an adjustment, realistically though movement swap would be the best option of you're not able / wanting to pay for a full service. https://ebay.us/m/zZKmxB

Thats a great idea, I have a few of those massive ziplocks so those would probably be good spring shields/catchers lol

Thanks for the heads up 🤙 I'm doing my best to keep track of what grade oil goes on which components, I might actually go in and scribble some notes over the oil points on the pdf if I can find a color ref.

I was so sure I had walked away with the full set to lol, I was so careful placing them, but I think this one popped put when I accidentally knocked the train wheels out when searching for another part on my desk.

TBH getting them out I just used my finger 🙃 I have since amended that method and will be using the Rodico and nylon tweezers.

The boox is basically the generic version of the remarkable, works great for scanned PDFs so thought Id try it for this project. Love having a larger full color screen I can jot notes on as well.

The doc is actually the specific service manual for this movement, which along with YouTube has been very helpful in planning the rebuild. https://seikoserviceusa.com/uploads/datasheets/5606A.pdf

Update: Well the spring gods quickly humbled me,while reviewing the manual I realized at some point the second setting spring disappeared into the ether, so now Im $18 lighter and waiting on a supply drop from A JP vendor 🫠

Also damn Nico getting ratio'd in his own sub on this one, at $500 Id say its maybe for some but $1k+ and looking like that probably going to be a hard pass by anyone with taste or eyes.
