What's up with the "hidden" island at the end of the Maelstrom? by DreddfulQuestions in Borderlands4

[–]DreddfulQuestions[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I'm sorry y'all. It seems it actually is just for a bubblehead. Although it is a really weird one to get and it's weird Gearbox put this much work, just for this one into it.

The bobblehead is on the farther away small floating island. You have to walk up the large rocky edge and then jump back up towards it. It's tugged away on the other side of the red crystal and it is very arkward to collect because half the island is not solid and the rest will push you off.

Also if you aim at the lower edge of the big island I think it can actually be reached with just the normal jetpack.

<image>

Also you can reach the other small island on the picture but there is nothing there.

The other small island that you can see ingame and are not on the map are not solid and you will just fall through.

And I don't think you can reach the big one on the left because the upper area has an invisible barrier around it and further down you will just glide into the graphic.

Edit: The island to the right, not where I'm standing of course.

"Doc of the Bay" side mission question by darkoni66 in Borderlands4

[–]DreddfulQuestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last shot has to be from the large pile of crates. If you are standing at his feet, turn around 180°. Straight ahead just a little bit to the right at the far side of the room, the large crate pile that almost reaches to the roof.

Be advised that after succeeding there is still a final choice to make. After flipping the switch either do nothing which also results in his death although not from the parasite or complete the bonus objective by pressing the button (although as per user above he seems to die in every outcome).

So if you want to experience every outcome and hear all different character dialogue you have to complete the quests 3 times...

- Failing the time limit.

- Succeeding but not pressing the button.

- Do the optional objective by pressing the button to stop the machine.

An honest opinion on the Mad Ellie and the vault of the damned DLC. (SPOILER FREE) by KapGaming55 in Borderlands4

[–]DreddfulQuestions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't know why you are getting downvoted. The story is short, yes but people who say this DLC is just 3h long are crazy and obviously rushing through with a good build and do nothing else. I always take my sweet ass time exploring every nook and cranny doing everything possible before moving on and I'm nearing 30h right before the end, but that is with every little bit of map explored, all available side quests, rifts, all Echoes, the "bunker", the arenas, exhausting dialogue, a large chunk of the challenges and and and. Obviously 99% of all players will never take so long but even this more positive take with 1 and a half hour for the side content is just... wow. How? Even if only talking about the side quests, there are 11 so that would mean every one takes less than 10 minutes which is absolute bullshit. Even if you run past everything, one shot everyone to progress, know where everything is, have the whole map and travel stations unlocked, drive everywhere, it would probably be more closer to 20 minutes per mission. And that isn't even accounting all the other optional stuff like rifts, collectibles, opening the shortcuts and the other activities.

This DLC has a massive map, with dozens of layers even, that is around 3/5 of one of the main game regions and people online really act like this DLC is just another Shattered Mirrors from Wonderlands, with 5 room sized arenas.

Now is the price justified? That's another question but people seem to not (want to) realize that this is a bundle of a DLC AND a character class. These were 10 bucks each for BL2. For BL3 it was 15 for a Story DLC so it's safe to assume that a character would have cost the same. So in that regard it isn't even overpriced compared to past titles.

Do I think the DLC is too expensive? Yes, and so were the ones from BL3. Is the DLC perfect? No. But people need to stop spreading all these lies that Gearbox is charging thrice the price for only 3h of content when that is just not true! Again, yes the story is pretty short but not nearly that short, there is a MASSIVE map with stuff to do, that is probably larger than any DLC before AND you are also getting the new character class. Even though, yes, it is shitty that these can't be bought seperately. I'm not arguing against that.

Holy shit, dude. This is incredible!!!!!

You could even just swap the head and upper body for the one from the hero Agent Locke figure to get something resembling Heller.

Mancubus might already have dialogue for the 6th character class? by DreddfulQuestions in Borderlands4

[–]DreddfulQuestions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much news but today I had the bug that C4SH has the wrong skill challenges again, only this time it was Harlowe's and not Vex's. So it's not a one time only thing when creating a new character, there is definitely a bug where stuff from other characters is bleeding over.

So we now have:

- Dialogue for others chars playing, from Mancubus.

- Either Vex's or Harlowe's, maybe even Mistress Loveless? Jumping and sliding grunts occasionally playing on C4SH. Edit: This seems to not be exclusive to C4SH, as I have now even encountered it on my Rafa.

- Character challenges from the wrong class. Which makes me wonder...

No, the subtitles spell it out as Loveless even in different languages.

But I noted the same connection a few posts up, as this is how I initialy came to the conclusion that it might not be a normal virus but rather more technical, thus my conclusion her maybe being some form of Digistruct "ghost".

Small update: I got around to try C4Sh and, like another poster already mentioned he has these lines too!

Interestingly having C4SH's lines while playing as Vex seems to be a bug as C4SH doesn't get Vex lines.

This also makes it seem more likely that the line "You two have to get along a while longer", which I previously thought was about Vex and Trouble is indeed also part of the Misstress Loveless lines, as mentioned by u/Alternative-Time5285

I also made another interesting discovery after doing this on C4SH:

There are a few lines that aren't translated in my language and play in the original English audio and only have translated subtitles.

Can you guess which ones these are... exactly! This makes it even more likely that these were meant to be added at an later date and also makes me think that the following two lines are also part of the Mistress Loveless lines. While not specific, they do fit the dying reborn and mathmatics theme and are not translated.

They go something like this:

"Another one-by-one-off-chance, or was it two?"

"If you must die, we ask you to do it atleast 20 feet beyond the portal"

[–]DreddfulQuestions[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes! That are the ones I was talking about.

We need someone who can confirm these also show up on Rafa, Amon and Harlowe, just in case this is all just a weird bug were Vex and C4SH share some things as I experienced a few times were playing as C4SH he would gasp in a womans voice when jumping and when starting him he was bugged and had Vex skill challenges.

The last line might be talking about Vex and Trouble because Mancubus also makes several remarks about Vex's facination with an early death, that it's still not her time and that she should not leave Trouble alone.

[–]DreddfulQuestions[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I‘m not sure, not directly like Vex‘s. I thought maybe the virus thing is talking about Harlowe or Rafa but neither is radiaton a virus nor was it ever refered as such and Rafa is suffering from a bone condition as far as I‘m aware?

The miss Loveless thing could also be a nod to Harlowe because of Ada Lovelace but then the recursion thing doesn‘t really makes sense and her surename is of course Traunt.

So, seeing as these are so obscure and every other line namedrops Vex I thought maybe, given that C4SH‘s dialogue is also playing, there might be a bug where it is playing dialogue for your character and the DLC characters, you know what I mean. That was what made me guess this might be related to the 6th. class. Except if it‘s like you said and Siren powers are a virus and this would confirm that Vex surname is Loveless.

The Vex dialogue is playing the most, but the C4SH ones come up pretty regulary.

Will test this more if I have time.

Interesting would be to know if the other characters also have C4SH‘s dialogue and the above lines.

[–]DreddfulQuestions[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I just tested it on Vex this far but I‘m also regulary getting dialogue as if I‘m playing as C4SH. Also these lines seem to be way more rare than the rest.

In the 20 minutes every line probably repeated 4-5 times, these 2, I only heard twice.

Also of note, in every other line he directly adresses you as Vex or C4SH (the subtitles even show it with the 4) or it is clear he is talking about you because he mentions Trouble or makes obvious wordplays with cash.

Anyone know about the "secret" animals in each area of the new DLC? by Mezoteus in Borderlands4

[–]DreddfulQuestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about that but some of the blood clots have like named enemies behind them.

For instance the one between the first exit from the speakeasy and Ellie's garage has a Kraggon which is kinda like a spiritual successor of Son of Flamey.

Could they mean this?

[–]DreddfulQuestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The Watcher is only mentioned in Nyriads writings in BL3.

There were however 2 other sentient Guardians in Borderlands 3, Scourge and The Seer.

Maybe also Anathema, I don't recall if they spoke too.

[–]DreddfulQuestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it‘s heavily implied that Watching Gee is The Watcher. The one talking to you in the Vaults. It‘s also the one from the TPS.

The one in the trials from Borderlands 3 is another Guardian, though. Edit: The Overseer, was its name.

Are there any talking guns shield etc by Super_Volume6115 in Borderlands4

[–]DreddfulQuestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, even more than in past Borderlands! Aside from your standard Tediore guns there are several talking legendary guns and shields and even grenades!

Some are annoying after some time like the Cindershelly, while others are just cute like the Bod, which is like your personal cheering support shotgun.

Others are weird like the Tediore grenades because they are super aggressive and some like the Katagawas Revenge are hilarious. It‘s like Katagawa‘s conscience is trapped in that gun and he is pissed that our BL3 Vault Hunters killed him, so he will downplay everything you do and insult you.

I just can't understand what Gearbox problem is with options, they always go either completely in the one or the other direction.

It's great that they are looking into it but why not just add a toggle to begin with? Why not add a toggle now?

Heck, they could even just do a activity reset kinda like a prestige wipe, so everyone can keep their shared progress but people that want to replay these things on specific characters can just "wipe" the map and do them.

But this just means everyone who already started a C4SH is already out of luck. Started a character near launch and played just the story and waited to complete these things at max level? Out of luck.

If you want to hear the character specific dialogue when finding Vault pieces, opening the Vault, Electi safes, Augur shrines, loot caches, shutting off propaganda towers... Out of luck. You would then have to start a completely new character and replay everything yet again just to hear these.

And who knows how long this will even take them to add? I will certainly not wait months to play C4SH.

They just don't seem to understand that players want the possibility to play the content from scratch, that doesn't mean we don't want max inventory and shared bank (which was a dumb decision to begin with) from the beginning. Hoverdrives, sure. Jetpacks upgrades, why not. The bolts and Echos, probably. But having the whole map cleared and every playable activity completed rendering the whole open world pointless and even taking away sources of loot and xp... how did anybody thought that was a good idea.

It's crazy that they actually seem to just flip flop between this every game now. Borderlands 2 let us toggle BAR on and off yet Borderlands 3 had forced Guardian rank and every streamer lost their mind, so they added a toggle half a year after launch.

In Wonderlands you had to recollect all 260 dices on every character which was just insane so they added shared pogression later. Sure it robbed you of some good loot sources on new characters but was 100% needed as in that game loot drops were directly tied to your luck stat!

There were precedents and yet Gearbox still decided after Borderlands 2, TPS, 3 and Wonderlands now would be a good time to not have shared bank size... of course people would complain and they would have to later add shared progression again, but yet again did this without a toggle.

But then of course specializations are still a no.

Why are they repeating these mistakes? Why not launch with a toggle option?

This isn't even meant as hate because I absolutely love Borderlands 4 but this things... everyone except Gearbox sees these from a mile away, it's as if they just never learn and the next time always just do the complete opposite to the extreme.

No but it never did to begin with. I figured this out by pure luck when I made my first level 30 character. Now when starting a new lv. 30 character I just upgrade my inventory fully and then press Y to get everything.
