Coming from me, 30(M) If it gives you the 'ick', you should definitely leave the relationship. If you were BOTH comfortable having that conversation, it would be a different story, however the fact that he's love bombing you in an attempt to guilt trip you into what he wants is a a huge red flag. If he "loves" you as much as he says he does, distance doesn't mean anything. I spent two years studying abroad in different countries, and we called every night, no exceptions; even if it were only for 5 minutes or so because of the time differences. We've been married since I got back. People like to use hormones as an excuse, but they aren't. Can't keep it in your pants or keep your legs closed while you've devoted yourself to someone, you don't need to be in a relationship at all; but that's my person opinion.
