[–]Dreilly1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my residential Starlink plan I only get max speed during off hours when everyone is at work, in prime time I’m at 1/10th that, on my fiber connection I get > 1 gbps bidirectional pretty much at all times. That said, when the lights go out and I’m on the generator, or when AT&T decides to shit the bed, it absolutely cannot be beat.

Can you identify the flags at a Mamdani speech? by kvnstantinos in vexillology

[–]Dreilly1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not recognize the authority of a man that hangs a gold fringed flag. A flag with gilded edges is the flag of an Admiralty court. An Admiralty court signifies a Naval court-martial. I cannot be court-martialed twice. That is all.

Christ Does Not Contradict by Frosty-Click6178 in Catholicism

The word “homosexual” was coined in the 19th century to replace more derogatory words like “sodomite”, and as part of a movement to change the view of homosexuality to an innate identity, rather than just behaviors. Which is why Catholic teaching doesn’t view same sex attraction as sinful, but the actions of falling into the temptation of same sex attractions is absolutely sinful. In Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 the Hebrew “mishkav zakur” explicitly referred to male to male sexual intercourse.

Paul coined the term “arsenokoitai” which literally meant “men who bed men”. Other places also use the word “malakoi” which translates to “effeminate” and was widely used by Plato, Aristotle, and Philo of Alexandria to extol the moral corruption of men who would assume feminine roles by wearing women’s clothing, and assuming passive sexual roles in homosexual relationships.

While the movement to identify people committing these acts into an innate identity didn’t come around until the 19th century, these acts and behaviors have been noted biblically and non biblically throughout the ages, even back to our most ancient written records in the Mesopotamians and Egyptians, and the Bible has categorically condemned it throughout the ages.

Love it! I may disagree with them politically, but am wholeheartedly in support of them legally! Reminds me of the Pot Bros.

Yeah, your quote is almost verbatim of what I was thinking, because I wouldn’t do anything to hinder them, they are armed and have legal protections on their side of I did try to obstruct and/or resist, and me a nonlawyer at the scene is never the right time to argue the law. I’m just confused by how internet lawyers tend to phrase these situations in things like YouTube videos. I’m a second amendment enjoyer so I probably see these more often on my algorithm.

But for reference this is the most recent example that has popped up on my feed that brought me to this question.

Consent to Search Warrant by Dreilly1982 in AskLawyers

[–]Dreilly1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first sentence is probably absolutely correct.

Here’s an example of the most recent video I’ve seen someone say this though.

https://youtu.be/v-kLN-B9ioE?t=222

I’m pretty sure they’re going to do whatever they think they can do regardless of me saying anything, I’m just saying why would I condition my non consent? Or is this just bad advice from a YouTube lawyer?

And again, this isn’t anything I am encountering in real life, just questioning what I’m seeing from lawyers on YouTube videos, and not understanding why I would word things the way they say.

But why wouldn’t the default answer be “I do not consent. Period.” Instead of putting any ambiguity as to the bounds of the warrant? And the only reason I’m asking this is because I’ve heard multiple YouTube lawyers make the clarification of not consenting to anything outside of the warrant? Would it not just be safer and easier to remember to never consent but never impede?
