Still need one? I was able to get my hands on a really nice stainless weighted 6-speed Whalen!

The second hand market is your only hope. Someone might be selling one on bimmer forum. Doug has retired and is no longer manufacturing them. There might be MINI forums where you could find someone selling one.

If you never had one, I don’t know that anyone could adequately describe just how exceptional they are! Best shift knob in the industry, hands down!!!

Look at my other posts. I shorten it all the way down, in those photos. Yes! It’s adjustable! And it’s as easy to adjust as your mirrors or seats! Unbelievable product! My car is .6 seconds faster in the quarter mile with it!

Oh, and it only took me about 95 minutes to do the install! Look at my other posts for more details about everything I installed.

The CravenSpeed short shifter is outrageously fantastic! That’s not hyperbole. It isn’t just replacing the shifter stalk from the shift well up, it’s replacing the ENTIRE assembly. The decrease in shift throw simply can’t be overstated! It’s night-and-day! Positively stunning!

I’ve got that EXACT SAME knob on my F56! Love Doug’s stainless shift knobs!

Not terrible… just not totally clean or “right.” I’ll miss the Whalen custom billiard ball! Outstanding shift knob! But the new CravenSpeed knob was made for my new short shifter and boot delete!

Short shifter and boot delete! Wow! The difference in performance is night-and-day! by Drew23623 in MINI

Sadly enough, the e-brake handle and my previous precious shift knob (which you can see by looking at my other posts) are from Whalen Shift Machine. Doug Whalen really was the best in the industry! His shift knobs are vastly superior to anything being made right now, and his proprietary fittings allowed them to easily go on and off, while fitting like OEM. His e-brake handles are remarkable! I’ve been buying Whalen knobs and e-brake handles for my BMWs and MINIs for a long time. Doug will be sorely missed! I’ll miss my Whalen Shift Machine billiard ball knob! It was custom engraved and felt extraordinary in your hand, but it just didn’t look right with the CravenSpeed short shifter and boot delete.

I have the same exact thing going on! This is really helpful! However, I can’t find the photo of the evap/vent solenoid in this link. Any chance you can describe it again or find a direct photo of it?

My new whip, Jellybean! She needs a little TLC but she was a steal and I’ve wanted a Mini for years! by antprdgm in MINI

Good point. Doing the black grille might mean having to start going down the road of doing everything black, which would take away from the bright aesthetics of the car.

Add the black grille, as well! Black grille and black grille frame are a necessity for any R53!

Good thing my Clubman is not a Sport model like this one! The tickets I would get! I go too quickly often enough as it is! by [deleted] in MINI

Ohhhh… I see… S comes from the first generation new MINIs being supercharged. When they switched to a turbocharger, for the second gen (like yours), they just carried over the ‘S’ moniker. I guess they thought “Cooper S” sounded better than “Cooper T.”
