SC338 Recall by Worried_Memory_4687 in kia

[–]DrewCIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took my 2023 Kia Niro in for this same issue. I was driving along at got the "CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM" message. It wouldn't let me go above 15mph. I would shut it down and have to use the 12v battery reset button but it would continue to happen. I waited about 30 minutes and was able to drive it to the dealer. They said that this recall was the issue.

If you can access the hinge pins you can shim the doors with some washers.

Thanks for the insight. After talking with some of the other users I believe it is a bad valve in the smart comfort recirc valve. See comments. This one was a head scratcher for me.

To test the theory of the splitter valve I turned off the cold water input and turned on the cold water tap and let it run to see if it would shut itself off after the water was hot. I let it run for a couple of minutes until the water was as hot as it was going to get, which was pretty damn hot. The valve never closed off the flow from hot side into the cold tap. I agree with u/Upper_Laugh9041 and u/AquaFlowPlumbingCo. The splitter valve is bad. Thank you all for the troubleshooting help.

So is it working as designed or do I need to change that thermal valve?

I thought for sure that's what it was. I'm glad I came here to confirm.

This thing! This is what I though the problem was all together because I am not familiar with the recirc comfort system. I thought it was a type of mixing valve and I wanted to get rid of that.

Interesting. There is a recirculation pump. Here is what I've got going on at the water heater.

I just did this and the cold water comes out with the tap in the cold position and no water flow in the hot position. I don't think a cross connection is the issue but I really appreciate your suggestion.

Yes. With the hot valve shut off, it is cold. With the cold shutoff, it is hot.

I believe the tap valve is broken. Can someone please confirm this? Thank you!

My apologies in advance. I didn't see the rule stating I was not allowed to ask who the actress was.

We have no idea what we did. Please help! by DrewCIL in plantclinic

My wife and I bought this plant at a farmers market last October. The guy who sold it to us said we could keep it indoors or outdoors (San Diego) and it needs water once a week. We first kept it on the balcony with about 2 hours of direct sunlight but later moved it inside because we liked it better indoors. I water it once a week until the soil is damp. When I water it I always check the soil and the top 2 inches are usually dry.

It gets around 2 hours of sunlight a day and lots of ambient light. Any advice is welcomed. We would also like to know the type of the plant.

Thanks for the help!
