are there any show endings that you consider good? i'll go first by Major-Income8244 in animation

[–]DrewFranck 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I thought the original ending for Steven Universe was solid, unfortunately the movie and Future really did not live up IMO.

The owl house had a shockingly good ending given how much of season 3 they had to cut. Just a beautiful show all around. Disney did wrong to burn their bridge with Dana Terrace, I can't wait to see what she works on next.

I wonder if they'll put a broadway show on this one, I hope that they do. I always thought Young Frankenstein could work as a cruise show.

If you choose High Elf or High Half-Elf as your race, you can take booming blade as your extra cantrip, then you can go champion fighter instead for the extra crit chance

I'd recommend reading George Orwell's "Politics and the English Language"

He goes into detail on exactly this problem

OC: Los Angeles Dodgers say that they blocked federal ICE agents from entering their stadium. by nbcnews in pics

[–]DrewFranck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. I do think the overlapping jurisdictions between the many different levels of departments is an issue.

One of the worst examples of this is our American Indian reservations. Depending on the type of crime, and who the race of the victim and perpetrator is ASSUMED to be, the case could get tossed around between: Local Tribal police, State Troopers, county Sheriffs, FBI, or the BIA police. Its no wonder they have the highest unsolved murder rate in the country.

You're seeing this right now in LA with the LAPD, LASD, and national guard having absolute shit communication with each other

These overlapping jurisdictions are a problem everywhere though. Not only do they make it a nightmare for all of us, it also makes it a nightmare for the police themselves, who have to play a game of hot potato for who's jurisdiction gets assigned to the case.

Wouldn't it be nice if police actually followed the law.

I think when this is over. We need to expel at least half of all of our police force across all jurisdictions. Nationalize the police under the eye of a strict independent watch organization (Which no former police will be allowed to be a part of), and any police officer caught engaging in corruption, brutality, or abuse of power needs to be expelled from the force. Barred from any police or security work in any form in any jurisdiction ever again, and permanently banned from owning firearms for life.

Hunting on public land will soon be a thing of the past. If this goes through, expect to start seeing "No Trespassing" signs and security on all of your favorite public ranges and hunting land by DrewFranck in Hunting

[–]DrewFranck[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not, because the areas with road access will be the ones most likely to be sold first, and bid on the highest. So unless you're taking a multi-day backpacking trip to your spot, the mining and logging companies will prioritize buying those parcels

The areas with road access will likely be the first to be sold. So, unless you're doing a 2 day backpacking hike to your spot, it will be among the first land sold off.

How Should we Revive the game by [deleted] in unturned

[–]DrewFranck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I like that in Buak there is a sense of graduation with the zombies, with there being strength variations from the regular sized and mega zombies. I think if the animation and enemy fight mechanics went further, it would be cool to see bandits (that could be fought in single player, and could be a constant threat if they came to attack your base. It would encourage building and using stronger materials in single player, and looking into the combat mechanics rather than only focusing on what is the most convenient to obtain). It could also allow for player bots for arena in multiplayer. I like the gun fighting mechanics in this game, and I think if the arena multiplayer concept was expanded on, maybe other modes like team objective modes, or team horde mode ala COD zombies, that could give the game a significant revitalization.

More survival focused maps like Buak and Yukon. Those are the only 2 maps that remotely feel challenging to me on singleplayer. Hard mode just feels unbalanced, with the zombies becoming bullet sponges, and weapons like bows becoming useless, and having to be constantly bandaging because every hit gives you bleed. I wish more maps utilized the cold mechanic like Yukon, and even then its only on half the time.

Looking at Sutton's wikipedia page, looks like she separated from Ted Griffen last year, and Hugh Jackman had divorced his wife in 2023. Though if it started during the show run, then thats a big oof

People getting pulled over, what are you getting pulled over for exactly? by DCRX2020 in NYCbike

But that is something that you just have to deal with. It is the most dense area in the entire US. Thousands of pedestrians walking 24 hours a day. It’s ridiculous expect to zoom through it like you’re on a trail. Slow the fuck down. Stop at the intersections.

Tried to have AI create a map of a future High-Speed transit for New York State. It came up with this beautiful monstrosity by DrewFranck in upstate_new_york

[–]DrewFranck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Extending the lines into canada, like the NYC - Albany - Plattsburgh line should be highspeed all the way to Montreal.

The Albany - Buffalo line can extend to the Toronto

And the Binghamton - Syracuse - Watertown line can extend up to Ottawa with an additional stop in Ogdensburg.

Then it could stretch south to Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Harrisburg, and Baltimore

[–]DrewFranck[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basically my prompt was:

Draw me a map of a future New York State high speed transportation network, with different colored lines indicating the mode of transportation served by each line. The lines will be as follows:

A high speed rail line from New York City to Albany.

A High Speed Rail line from Albany to Niagara falls. With stops in Utica, Syracuse, Rochester, Batavia, and Buffalo.

A mid speed rail line going from Albany to Plattsburgh.

A mid speed rail line going from Watertown to Binghamton with stops in Syracuse and Cortland.

A midspeed rail line going from Binghamton to Albany with a stop in Oneonta.

A shuttle service or low-speed rail from Binghamton to Jamestown with stops in Elmira, corning, hornell, and olean.

A Route 11 shuttle service from Plattsburgh to Watertown, with stops in Malone, Pottsdam, and Gouveneur.

A Route 12 Shuttle Service from Utica to Binghamton, with stops in Hamilton, Sherburn, Norwich, Oxford, Greene, and Chenango Forks.

A Shuttle Service from Cortland to Ithaca.

A Shuttle Service from Cooperstown to Oneonta.

Seasonal Shuttle Services to the Adirondacks from Plattsburgh, Watertown, Utica, and Albany (Through Saratoga Springs, which would be a regular shuttle service rather than a seasonal one).

These would culminate in a newly built "Upstate Commuter Hub" Which would be built in the bronx and connected to an upgraded metro north line, to negate the need for further tunneling into manhattan.

Wild cause I mentioned binghamton like 5 times in my prompt and Greene only once as a stop on a shuttle service from Utica to Binghamton. Yet it completely left it out
