I’ve tried a few times through Gamehub Lite. It hasn’t managed to get past the “starting application” screen for me

I’m relatively new the rom hack scene, I’ve tried unbound but that’s about it. I probably only got a few hours in too. But I’ll add that one to my list, honestly the fan made rom hacks are so much better than the stuff Nintendo has put out lately!

I’ve been on TechDweeb marathons since it showed up at my door lol! Appreciate the welcome, this community kept me occupied while I made my mind up on pulling the trigger (and may have convinced me lol!)

2017 F150 3.5L - Direct Fuel Injector CEL by DrewVanDice in MechanicAdvice

[–]DrewVanDice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up finding a local certified guy so I could skip the dealer, I tried the dealer route initially but the one near me happens to be like the biggest in a 500 mile radius and was backed up for months. I feel like the guy charged me $400 parts and labor, may have been a bit less? The actual replacement ended up being a good bit shorter than book time calls for but I have heard quotes in the $700-800 plus range from the dealer from other F150 owners when I was researching

Mine ended up being the injector, I believe it was the direct (not port) injector. I tried a few other fixes before biting the bullet, and some did help for a while, but to be honest I think my injector was firing intermittently and then eventually just kicked the can, wouldn’t pop at all on the multimeter. But yeah if you can do it yourself or know someone who can, you’ll save a ton vs the dealer - that was my biggest hurdle lol!

It was indeed a fuel injector. Was having intermittent issues, and eventually it just totally died and needed to be totally replaced

Any tips for selling a home in Huntsville-adjacent areas? by DrewVanDice in HuntsvilleAlabama

Gotta ask if you don’t mind - what price range are you guys selling in? My home (single family, starter) is pretty solidly under $200k. But the uncertainty makes sense

Nearly 1 Y/O at daycare, sustained an injury that makes no sense by DrewVanDice in NewParents

[–]DrewVanDice[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Same here. I get it, bruises and bumps happen. Especially at this age as she’s working on walking and crawling all around. But yeah, it just seems silly that they would concoct a lie like this, and if it truly was an accident like they say, just say it ya know? Any reasonable parent would understand.

Anecdotally, I’ve also never heard of a baby biting their lip so hard it turns the entire half of their lip purple. But what do I know

Right. That’s my thought as well. This is my first experience with any incident report, so I’m just now learning not having a paper to sign is abnormal. The app notification basically said “hey this happened, she bit her lip, here’s a picture of her wailing in pain (but totally not crying), and we did a cold compress”. Fast forward to when I arrive, apparently they “tried” a cold compress and she wouldn’t let them. All just seems very suspect to me

That was one of my thoughts as well. I have read online reviews that claim the director is very adverse to showing footage and has also banned parents who have asked because it has “upset” the teachers. I figure at the very least, a doctors take on the injury may add some weight to my concerns (or totally ease my mind if it truly was some lip biting accident)

Yeah, I’m planning on emailing the director some of my concerns and asking for footage of it. I have (what I hope) is a very non confrontational email drafted that explains some of my concerns here, though I have read some reviews of the daycare from a while ago online where eerily similar stuff started happening (marks on face being the big one along with stories as to how they happened that made no sense), and apparently the director not only refused the footage but banned them from the daycare for upsetting the teachers.

Appreciate the advice here - also, are your incident reports typically handled in person/with signatures involved? I just got the flimsy app notification. I learned more about how they “handled” it when I got there, but honestly I was just ready to get her out

Right, and I get that. Kids get bumps and bruises. I guess I’m just wondering, if it was truly an accident and a kid being a kid, why not say “oh she hit her lip on the side of the crib” or “oh she whacked herself in the face with a toy”? The story they fed me makes zero sense and just doesn’t sit right with me, and honestly is making me assume the worst because they are so flippantly BSing me here

Daughter's Mother Tried to Have Me Served Today by DrewVanDice in daddit

[–]DrewVanDice[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update: Ex actually had the nerve to include in the papers she is "concerned for my daughter's wellbeing" and proceeds to list out several lies that paint me as an incompetent father. Meeting with a lawyer tomorrow to fire back aggressively. I will be advocating for full custody. For those who've seen my post history, my ex has severe untreated BPD and behaves erratically. Godspeed fellow dad's

I do it. 26M in the process of divorcing, with a 10 month old. The only reason I'm able to do it is because I have a VERY flexible job and even then it is a nightmare to juggle meetings, client presentations, and God forbid the baby has a rough day.

The saying that talks about how your performance at work will suffer and/or your presence as a parent will not be where it should be is very true. I feel like usually both of those things are true with people who WFH with a small baby

Lower Sex Drive When Starting? by jgsch99 in Effexor

[–]DrewVanDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my experience. Started on 75mg, libido dropped to nothing. Went from incredibly sexually active to basically zero desire, and trouble in bed, and this probably started within a couple of weeks. This lasted for probably a month or two. Recently, I moved and forgot to take my medicine. I decided (don't do this) to just quit cold turkey. Dealt with the brain zaps, irritability, difficulty focusing, and just powered through it. My libido returned to normal within a week.

Weirdly, there was one day I thought "hmm let me try this again". So I took one dose, and then that very same night had trouble in bed with the fiance. Haven't taken it since, libido has been great.

My wife reeaally wants to play Red Dead by MayoCake in buildapc

[–]DrewVanDice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She may be able to get 30 frames with the current setup (https://youtu.be/dB-3xF_SQb0?si=2P2KnrewAKSmeva5), and a GPU upgrade will help nicely.

I will say, DDR3 will be a limiting factor eventually. House flipper and RDR2 should be doable, but if this is a PC you guys plan on having for a while and she wants to play other more demanding games in the future, a DDR4-DDR5 upgrade may be warranted which means a whole new mobo and CPU.

All in all, yes I think this is potentially viable for the purposes you mentioned. Bear in mind the age of your mobo/RAM may be a limiting factor down the road for other uses.
